According to the Barnsley board we should get reported to the FA for cheating. Regarding the multiball system to be honest I didnt see us abandon the multiball system during the game. Saw their players play silly buggers with the ball enough during the game though.

Even the bloody FA would laugh them away... Even if we had... which we didn't.... Campbell Ryce had the ball in his bloody hands when the bench started kicking off.

The ref held up our kick off (which was about to happen) to go and calm it down.

Typical modern day dingles... and they are only going to get worse with him in charge.

Think most know that Simon Davey needs to go and that their situation is down to him. Its not down to the 2 games against us and the Hume incident etc etc. Having read some of their fans so far most seem to blaming Davey for everything unlike Davey who is making pathetic excuses.

Davey out! :D

Also, for such pacifists... it was ironic to note some fisticuffs on the away end tonight.

Well done Blades!! Hopefully no more Derbies next season. Theyre such great levellers, when you have a lot they can easily affect your promotion chances. The pigs, rovers and dingles undoubtedly raised their games at the Lane, it being like a Cup Final to them all.

good old bbc continue to excel themselves with their skills in player identification.

bbc sport said:
Sheffield United moved into third place in the Championship after a dramatic derby win over struggling Barnsley.
John Joe O'Toole bundled home Gary Naysmith's throw to put United ahead on 81 minutes and Arturo Lupoli met Darius Henderson's cut-back to make it 2-0.
But Blades keeper Paddy Kenny had to save Jamal Campbell-Ryce's last-minute penalty after Greg Halford's handball.
And Barnsley did pull a goal back when Daniel Bogdanovic turned in Jon Macken's neat pass in injury time.

The best of the comments regarding each team from the Dingles:

Sheffield United:

a very one dimensional opposition.

I think you'll find we were a very horizontal opposition, after being pushed over for most of the match with the referee letting your lot away with it.

The Morgan chants were clearly making the natives restless.

No, you just looked like plebs. Where was the "Justice for Hume" banner anyway?

scared them shitless the last 10 minutes because we ran at them with passion

I think you'll find we sat back because any running into the corner with the ball would have resulted in a free kick for you.

Barnsley:

in the first half when we were the better side

Yeah... that amazing that Paddy didn't have anything to do. Do you want points awarding for that?

Most either chanted at Morgan instead of getting behind the team or spent the match doing wanker signs to the home fans.

Indeed... or fighting with each other.

We controlled the first half

We've done this one before ^

Sky...Why did they show that incident with Anderson? And the bust up? Is it just me or were they looking for controversy from this game? They even started the highlights mentioning the Morgan incident. Stupid.

Erm... because Barnsley and your esteemed manager have built it up to be so and your team use cynical challenges to make up for a lack of talent.

Paul 'Tosspot' Walker needs a slap too. When a Unitedite mentioned the Anderson foul he banished him saying 'lets not concentrate on one tackle in a match of 90minutes' (or something to that effect).

Ironic wouldn't you say, that Dingles have found it appropriate to do so for the previous 4 months?

With regard to the game...
One of them Derbies, never really got into our game, struggled to play football, perhaps something to do with Davey's flare, no SCARE, tactics of "we're shit so foul 'em" from the off. Says something when your best player is a defender (Gary Naysmith anyone?) Still, ground out the result and got the 3 points.

Special mention for Monty, Wardy and the Blade on RS for the 'mudhut' comment

ONE CHRISSY MORGAN!

I genuinely believe Radio Sheffield have been warned by Barnsley again that they may take their coverage away and are doing their best to pander to them.

Did anybody listen to the radio build up? I'm informed that he asked every caller what their thoughts on the Morgan/Hume incident were and that they even played a montage, complete with "sentimental" music.

Went for Jamie Ward for MOTM.

Thought he was brilliant again.

So was Naysmith and Bromby is much, much better at Centre Back!

If we can keep 11 men on the field i think we will get something out of the game if not then it could be a cricket score

Wrong!

the only tickets left are on the front 5 rows cant see them selling any more now

Wrong!

ive been down oakwell this morning for some tickets a bloke next to me asked for a ticket for tonight's game as far back as possible and the women said there is only the first 5 rows left

Wrong!

From a relatively sane Barnsley point of view, albeit one who only listened on Radio Sheff Utd (sorry), here goes:

Probably a fair result in the end. The game was a carbon copy of 90% of our away games this season. Plenty of possession in the first half, but toothless up front. Then, after about 50 minutes, we decide that we're happy with the 0-0 and invite pressure. We then get pummelled for the rest of the game, and usually lose 1-0.

I'm also sick of SimpleSimon. Think yourselves lucky that you only have dealings with him twice a season. I've had to put up with his excuses for three years. His post match interviews are usually duplicates of each other. "Plenty of possession bla bla bla, blame the ref a bit bla bla bla, their so-and-so should have got sent off bla bla bla". Rubbish.

As for the multi ball system. To be fair, they did highlight it during the match, saying that at 1-0, 25 balls turned into one. Clutching at straws a bit, but you can see our point of view. If the boot was on the other foot you probably would say the same. However, at Oakwell, we have about 3 ball boys, who spend all game picking their noses, and not really doing much. We should probably use a similar tactic at Oakwell - but that would mean that we'd actually need a lead to defend.

I still don't think we'll go down, but Championship or League One, I don't want Mr Davey anywhere near the football club.

As for Ryan Kidd. He's got a shorter fuse than anyone i've ever seen. He's done it numerous times this season. He's a prick.

As for Mr Blackwell. I still hate his accent.

In all fairness, you show me one team that wouldn't do that with the multi-ball system, and I'll show you a team that only owns one ball to begin with ;)

I've gone for O'Toole. I thought in a match with very little football, a lot of blood and thunder and zero time on the ball, watching John Joe looking around before receiving the ball, putting his foot on it, have a look up, never panicking, picking a man and finding him every single time was like watching a seasoned Premiership old boy. First class from him.

Also thought Naysmith was excellent, Monty is a new man with outlets on the wings, Ward should be given extra sweets in his packed lunch today, and James Beattie should look at Darius Henderson to learn how to earn £35,000 a week.

Up the Blades.

Agreed, TA - but I've gone for Naysmith. Best match I've ever seen him play for us. He's usually solid but not spectacular to watch, but last night he combined both.

As for Ward - just imagine how good he'll be when he reaches puberty!

Yeah, know what you mean Matth. Thought Naysmith was awesome last night too. I went for O'Toole though because I kind of expect Naysmith to stand out as a seasoned pro with his pedigree and experience. O'Toole on the other hand is very young, relatively inexperienced but looked real class last night. Also, he looks like that kind of spazzy kid from school who was always keen to get involved and was pretty handy but you never picked him first cos he was a bit of a gimp. And I like that.

Am I the only one that wasn't particularly impressed with O'Toole last night? :), I thought he had an average game, solid enough, but I've seen him play a LOT better.

I thought the same.

Probably not but I thought his performance was exactly what was needed last night. It wasn't the kind of game for flare, tricks and runs (hence Cotterill's perceived "average" performance) and I think O'Toole got into the groove perfectly to provide a level headed calmness that not many other players seemed capable of last night.

Good old dingles... From the match report on their official site:

"Morgan was up to his old tricks again on 21 minutes as he barged Mifsud to the ground with the ball nowhere to be seen and the little striker looking to race in behind the Blades. "

That's truly disgraceful. What they're doing is nothing short of a witchhunt. I am impressed that Morgan is keeping a dignified silence, but I wouldn't blame him at all if he went on a diatribe against his former club and told him exactly what he thought.

Does our official report have any thing about Rob Kozluck trying to bum-rape Lupoli during any set peice after he came on?

Would that warrant a red card, a yellow, or just a talking to? And does it depend whether he actually managed to get it in or not? ENQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW.

He makes me laugh... in a nice way.

He seems to be able to tell his feet what to do... but his legs obviously miss the message along the way :D

I think he manages to confused the opposition by being god-damn clumsy looking

EDIT: I said Naysmith MOTM too. I like Bromby but I can't help thinking we aren't as strong with him in defence. Naysmith calmed my fragile nerves somewhat.

How did I miss this one on their official site?

"A game against the Blades would not be the same without a flailing arm and Andranik caught one right in the face from Henderson"

I really hope Mr McCabe's legal team are preparing a sternly written letter.

Paul Walker was a disgrace in the radio buildup. He was doing all he could to wind things up with the Barnsley contingent by attempting to get them to say something controversial about the way the Blades and Morgan played at Oakwell. His pro Barnsley stance came out loud and clear.

The majority of players go up for an header with their arms up.
