Has Coutts not just taken a shot...?
Yes and the challenge was a foot higher than where the ball was. He's gone in to leave one on him and it's broken his leg. Simple as that, he probably thought shit afterwards and then Clough says "he's not got it in him", same response as when he nearly broke Westwood's leg, with a similar challenge. Just a clumsy cunt then, so that's ok. It's fucking reckless and if I'd done that in Sunday legaue someone would be suing me

I know what you mean. I think he's left his foot in there. But he's not generating force is he? Let's be perfectly honest, this is a saintly challenge compared to Morgan on Hume. I think it's an awful tackle. But you can't infer intent to break a limb.

Over the top. A classic leg-breaker. It’s an evil tackle and the cunt should be banned. What would he be saying if he were on the other end of it. Ban the fucker for a long time.

Why put the at worst bit then?

Appreciate what youre saying, but that kid of thing happens every game in football. It’s just very very unfortunate.

It's a dangerous high , late tackle that's been made with the studs showing. It's the kind of challenge thats deplored in all forms of the game not to mention the kind of challenge that's rightly viewed as an immediate red card offence .

It is. Cunt. Ban him.

Sorry, but I feel that I have to point out that football is not played in slow motion, or by screen shots Prof Guardiola. Play thirty games per season and you will be on either end of that challenge eight or ten times. As I'm sure that you will be able to confirm from your extensive experience of playing the game

For contributing to a thread? By that logic, we both need one!
Look fella you don't like what I post at any time fair enough I couldn't give a fuck. But I will not stoop down to your level of comparing a like tackle to blocking a shot with no player within 2 yards just to have a go at a poster who's opinions I don't like. I suppose that has been the highlight of your sad day in your sad life. Discussion now over do one saddo.

Bit OTT! It's gutting for Coutts, you don't wish that on any player especially Blades players.

But we will be fine, there is no doubt in my mind.

It’s actually gutting for all Proper Blades who are proud of our quality players and love to watch a Rolls-Royce of a footballer gracing our shirt.

Your expression of sympathy is about as ‘not really bothered’ lukewarm as I’ve ever read.

Could well be more often than that we don't know

Looking for a bit of hope of a good recovery, remembered how Mark Webber broke his tibia and fibula a couple of months before the F1 season began.

Pins in both, did a lot of cryogenic chamber stuff he was back for the start of the season in March, having done it November. He was probably training before March though.

Not necessarily the same use of the leg o know but they have to put a lot of pressure on the pedals so it has to be a strong bone. Think it's like 100KG of pressure for the brakes.

We'll have him in the best hands. He'll be back for the final push, hopefully before.

Come on Couttsy

My point was it happens in football matches the world over very regularly, it just doesn’t end up in a broken leg. If that lad in my picture runs forward, CCV (I think it is) snaps him. I don’t know if you played in your youth, but I have and I’ve done both those kinds of blocks loads of times, just never broken anyone’s leg fortunately.

But yes, this was the highlight of my life. Well among things like the view from my kitchen window :)

So you've seen a photo? Sorry, you're talking shit. I've seen it back a couple of times now. Coutts smashes the ball and the guy turns and throws a leg at the ball - in a split second. It's by no means purposeful. He's not a cunt.

He’s a cunt. You’re talking the shit, pal. Your view carries no more weight because you write a blog I’m afraid. Use your fucking eyes. It’s a horrible tackle on a proper footballer.

People are obviously angry, but I would imagine only a tiny percentage have actually seen footage of the tackle. The ball was bouncing, Coutts struck it on the half-volley, Sordell caught him and it was reckless but 9 times out of 10 nothing comes of it. It's nonsense to say it was a malicious tackle and should have been a red - watching it live I had no idea what had happened. It's not exactly an Ainsworth, as much as people seem to want somebody to hate.

Main emotion is deflation, firstly for Coutts, and then how it impacts us because the role he plays is unique to the team despite us having other very good midfielders.

He is the one player more than any other who we don't have a direct replacement for.

However at this stage I'm not willing to join the Sordell bashers. I want to see a few proper replays first.

Coutts didn't have his foot planted with Sordell going over the top. It looks more like just a reaction raising his foot for the ball. Studs showing is a natural consequence.

I'll reserve judgement but first impressions aren't that it was overly reckless or deliberate.

Sordell has form for this. I hope the cunt's on the end of a bad one himself in the very near future.

I realise Sordell has form, but (and I need to see it again) it just looked like a badly mistimed and rash tackle from a forward.

I don't think many are saying it is a malicious tackle but fucking hell even that massive Wendy fan Blunkett can see it was late and reckless, a penalty and a red card all day long. He's snapped his leg in two FFS

The problem is you could probably be competitive driving an F1 car with a prosthetic leg rather more of a problem for a footballer.

If the tibia and fibula have both snapped which it looks like to me, he will be out until next July / August at the earliest. If he has snapped both he will have a titanium rod put down the tibia to repair it followed by a long slow recovery.

You've never played football at a competitive level have you FLH. It's not played in slow motion or freeze frame.

Oh look it's the anti-united 'you can't have an opinion unless you've played league football' idiot.

If you leave your foot in a challenge or block, that high off the ground with studs showing - it doesn't matter how quickly or unintentional it may be. It is dangerous and reckless.

The evidence being Paul Coutts leg that is broken in fucking two.

And playing the 'you've not played' line is just ridiculous. I can think of many people who have played the game who talk absolute fucking bollocks - it is not a pre requisite for commenting on what or what isn't deemed a dangerous challenge.

Patronising idiot.

I’ve seen some Bladey cap-doffing in my time but we’re at new levels.

The cunt was nowhere near the ball. It was over the top and studs showing. A leg-breaker all day long. And people who recognise the obvious are accused of ‘talking shit’.

I despair.
