Of the ones I've seen:-
TC - World Class

Honourable Mentions - Hodgy, Woodward, Edwards, Morris, Sabella, Deane, Agana, Cockerill, Borbokis, Jags, Bradshaw, Whitehouse, Cowans, McGrath, Walker, Kelly.
Current Bunch - Duffy, Fleck, O'Connell, Stevens

I thought I'd cheated a bit with 3, but you've taken it to a whole new level ....

.... but I like your style.

Alan Kelly.

But my outfielder would be Bob Booker. Better, more technically gifted players there were. But he played like it meant everything. When I spoke to him at the book signing he seemed genuinely humbled by the support.

Michael Brown. All action midfielder and a scorer of beautiful goals.

One of the tragedies of the Warnock era is we never got to see playing that box to box role for us in the Prem, such a shame to see him convert to a holding midfielder as soon as he went to tottenham. Might have been great for his longevity and bank balance, but he could do everything and too many foreign managers turned their nose up at him.

If the Wilder era turns into what I hope it could, then I can see top spot going to Sir David of Brooks in the next few years.

Sir Brian Deane for me.

Maybe not the best player I've seen, but that's not the question.

My better half was talking to Jock Bryson in the TC suite last Saturday.

Told him she thought he was our most under-rated player during her time. He was genuinely appreciative and said it meant a lot. She was disappointed how many seemed to not really recognise who he was.

I'd agree with her though so rather than picking Brian Deane as would be the literal answer, I'll give Jock a vote as our most under-rated (history wise at least as I'm sure us that remember him well wouldn't say he wasn't rated).

Brian Deane, a £40,000 signing who hadn't set the world alight at Donny and he looked a tall, gangly cheap option target man. Agana looked the more quality player the first year but both scored 30 goals each.
But he improved season after season and 2 promotions and 3 years in the top flight proved what a great player he was for us.

He never quite kicked onto to the full potential he had after leaving us.

"So, what are the scores on the doors, Anthea?"

"Well, Bruce..."

In light of Matt's claim that Roger Nilsen is his favourite player (can it be so, only if he repeats it on this thread I reckon?), who is yours?

Rules. They played for United, you can only have one, you don't have o justify it in any way, don't be a twat and start slagging anyone else's choice.

If your favourite hasn't been mentioned, add him to the list, if it is add your vote to the ones they've already got.

Here's your starter for 10.

Tony Currie. 1 vote.

ROGER BLEEDING NILSON!? The hospital back pass man?! He seemed decent when he first arrived but he dipped after. Just had to say my astonishment at anyone having Nilson as their favourite ever blade! I'll add my vote for Bob Booker!

If you ever saw TC play it’s without doubt TC - if you never saw then fair enough you might think Jags Brown Tonge but he was twice or 3x these players.

But a good call is Sabella who was also special and those that saw him are lucky.

But right now right here at BDBL this midfield is glorious to watch and is without doubt the best for 40 years.

Coutts Duffy and Fleck all fantastic.

Seeing as we're talking favourite and not best I'm going for....

Del Geary

In every list of this sort, 'favourite' versus 'best' is a crucial element.

This being a list of favourites; the only United player is Chris Morgan, the only band is Pavement and the only beverage is a Guinness.

Most of those who voted for Deane never saw TC and Woody play

The first is arguable, Pavement I've never heard of so no comment but Guinness? WTF, its nowt but commercialised shit. Bet you've never had a pint of Wards!
