Do any of you really think he'd turn down triple or more his money if a decent prem side came in for him?

Lets be realistic. He would go as all of us would.

Not necessarily. Theres a lot to be said for being happy in your job, liking the people you work with and having the opportunities to achieve what you want from your career.

For the thousandth time, PL clubs would rather have some fucker like Claude Puel than a decent English championship manager. No one's going to trebling his money in the near future because, looking down from the PL, he's won fuck all. He's got the Blades promoted, big deal, we shouldn't be in L1. Kenny Jackett got Wolves promoted and got off to a good start in the championship. He's at Portsmouth now. Grayson got Leeds up etc. Winning L1, however stylishly, and getting off to a good start in the championship doesn't get a manager a PL job in this day and age.

I think it would have to be a properly decent prem club, as in top half to pry him away, and even then I think he'd tell our board what they were offering and give them the chance to match it (it wouldn't be Mourinho money due to his inexperience at that level, but more than now) and even if he left, he'd probably serve some kind of notice period and not just fuck off and leave us floundering.

You obviously don’t know Wilder.
It’s NOT just about money, there are other factors, he’s not a mercenary and doesn’t like mercenary type players.

As Wilder often says about players with high potential.
If you’re as good as you think you are then the fortune will come after the achievement.

At the moment Wilder will think he can double/ treble his current salary by staying here.
He’ll already be a great money so is hardly a pauper.
If the board don’t support him by selling off Brooks for example, then there’s a chance he’ll leave.
He wants PL football with us but if he’s not backed then he’ll look for it elsewhere.

Another important issue is that for a PL club Wilders cv is shockingly bad, no relevant experience what so ever, never managed ego’s, never managed foreigners, never managed high paid players, never had massive media attention. He’d be a massive risk, piSs off their fan base, so I can’t see any half decent PL club wanting him., why would a PL club with millions enabling them to afford the best go for a untested novice with neglible experience of playing or managing in the top flight.

Are they really all that f****n thick?

Apparently now, it's this season or never as it'll be much tougher for us in La Liga next season. I thought they predicted it would be tough this season? Dickheads.

To be honest that has a slight grain of truth in it, mainly because if we don't go up as well as Wilder being approached we will do well to keep the likes of JOC, Fleck, Brooks and the increasingly impressive Stevens away from Premier League interest.

He'll be aware of that and will be scouting replacements. If we sell that lot we'll have plenty of cash to buy them.

But I do think if we don't go up this season we probably won't next season either, we'll have to rebuild and it would be a hell of a job to bring four or five key players and hit the ground running. You never know with Wilder though.

I heard it as he is very happy to manage our club and wants both his and the clubs potential to be invested in to take him and the club to the Prem. If he left he’d miss his song too much.

The NKT propaganda machine is in overdrive today:

"Whenever their has been interest in Carlos he has shot it down and said things like not interested in money, happy here, speculation etc all the things you wana hear.

Chris Wilder didnt sound convincing and people bang on about his passion and kissing the badge and all that.

We are lucky to have Carlos believe me."

DEEEEE-LOOOO-DED

IMG_0063.PNG This is my recent favourite post, they have a 190 page thread about us following on from a 500 page thread the 2 previous years after getting in the playoffs twice and we are the obsessed ones! Wonder if the the guy can spell irony?

My favourite poster has to be Sij he was one of the main tub thumpers telling everyone we would get relegated.

Thats exactly what it was

Wisely he was careful with his words regards speculation because there are so many unknown variables.
Our owners could fall on hard times and change policy wanting to cash in selling off anyone who gets a large bid.
They might settle for staying in the Championship and not support Wilder in the JTW.
Wilder might then realise that he’s unlikely to achieve promotion with United so then he’ll consider offers.
This is the truth but he’s hardly going to admit it because many have a 2+2=5 logic.
What ever he says will be twisted negatively and some fans will worry and panic about nothing.

So invariably the best option is to say as little as possible.

Ron Atkinson, the old Wednesday manager got caught out in the early 90’s.
He was quoted as saying he loves it and is so happy at SW and would never leave for another club.

Then a few weeks later a very embarrassed Atkinson had to back track because he abandoned Wednesday and left for Aston Villa. Atkinson said that Villa is his boyhood club that he always dreamt of managing them so couldn’t pass up the opportunity.

Money in January and he stays. No money in January and who knows.

Really don't see why it's that simple, Wilder has said on repeated occasions that he would never do anything financially that would risk the future of the football club and put people out of a job - so it's probably more of a case of whether he wants to spend money rather than whether he'll get it. He will get what he wants, I'm sure, but isn't going to be demanding £10m to spend.

McCabe and Prince really need to give funds in January if we are near top 6 by January which so far is likely to happen

Cash is cash, but never underestimate the importance of job satisfaction.

Wilder and players are all on very comfortable money and I believe are all enjoying their work thoroughly. Wilder, at present is carving out legend status and not many mangers go to work with that status.

For the players - again, it is a job. Slightly different for them as they aren't the fall guys as much when things go wrong, but one wrong transfer and they don't play, regret the move etc. Same for us mere mortals !

At present there are some big pull factors to this club. I agree we need to see backing and increased contracts for some to keep them. So until January or even next summer, I doubt (and pray) not much will change !

Lets put it this way shall we.
There is much more chance of Wilder managing in the Premier League with United, than with any other club.
End of story
Wilders success over the seasons has come from man managing players who he can relate to / get on with. Players on wages that are below average / realistic salaries. Very similar to his own playing day salary.
When you manage Premier League players, their salaries are off the radar as to what he is used to dealing with.
IF he were to be ever poached by a Premier club, it would be when he had some experience - in the Premiership, with United.
IF that day ever comes, he could / would, go with my blessing. Until then, he will remain our manager.
Anybody think any of these teams are bigger than United:
Burnley
Swansea
Brighton
Bournemouth
Palace
Stoke
WBA
Watford
Huddersfield
Southampton
Theres 10 clubs there who I think we are (potentially) bigger than.
He is better off where he is. Take us up, get some 'Premiership experience' and the sky may well be the limit for him, and rightfully so.
I just cant imagine him leaving us and taking over any of the above 10 teams.
He has something going at United, we know it, and I think he does too.

lmao, I reckon we are also lucky you have Carlos :D
Haha, I really wish I’d thought of posting that buddy. ;)

We're obsessed with them, yet they're listening to a Football Heaven special with Chris Wilder.......

I'm convinced most of these comments that get screenshot from Porktalk on to here, are people on the wind up.

Surely people we share the same city with, perhaps family can't be that different?
Yes you’d image do wouldn’t you? .....and yet...

Who the fuck are Sheffield Wednesday anyway? Apart from the team from South barnsley that the Blades easily rolled over in September!
What an absolute joke of a club with a fan base full of deluded clowns.
They do realise that the dolphin murderer will use the club as much as he can an then they'l be up for sale again with a shit load of debts don't they. Retards.
It' all the excitement cos Jordan Rhodes has scored 2 goals.
