To be fair, I said Basham was a 'nothing' player who was lost in midfield and unconvincing at the back. Even at the beginning of last season I'd have only had him on the bench but he vastly improved and became a colossus at the back by the turn of this year.

I started a thread called 'The enigma that is Paul Coutts' at the end of the Adkins season because he was. Clearly there was a player with no little skill but his fitness and attitude appeared suspect and he wasn't the pivotal player that he is now.

I don't think anyone, maybe apart from Wilder and Knill, could have foreseen the form and work rate that Leon is currently showing. Every fan from all his former clubs seem to be amazed at him.

Me too. He was a part of the 2015 and 2016 teams that simply weren't good enough. I wasn't sure if he was good enough to be an L1 player.

15 months playing under CW and he is a completley different player. Confidence in both your self and your team mates, has played a major part but credit should go to Bash, Freeman and Coutts who all look transformed from their 2015/16 versions.

Off to the humble pie shop to get another slice.....
