Hamer's sublime goal today, followed up by that beautiful tribute to Maddy in the celebration. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it all day since it happened.

In years to come, I suspect that Hamer will be regarded as one of THE most talented players we were lucky enough to have at the Lane, yet he seems really humble and I imagine he is the one who feels honoured to have shared a shirt number with her.

I can also imagine him in the dressing room before the match, saying to the lads "I am going to score for Maddy today, just you watch".

It really got to me, so I can't imagine how much it meant to her loved ones who were there.

Thanks Gus, it was bloody ace, and RIP Maddy

We have had several minute's applauses during matches over the years but that must have been one of the best respected ones with just about every one in the ground standing

When the Derby player banged his head after being skinned by Seriki/Brooks the only player on the pitch who sat with him whilst he was being treated was Hamer...to me his actions says a lot about him as person.

Actually I think they were taking a goal kick. The goalie was taking his time and I wonder whether he would have booked him for taking too long - there again he had a few more opportunities to do that as the half went on

Hamer is promising to have the peak Michael Brown season of 02/03. Fleck and Coutts, then Fleck and Norwood were both excellent and gained us promotions, but none of them had the goal scoring prowess Hamer brings.

Derby fans are amongst the best to come to BDTBL, usually in big numbers , noisy and respectful (Billy aside) makes for a great atmosphere especially when they lose

I believe she was a Derby County fan herself. When she passed away there was a minute’s silence arranged by the Derbyshire FA at the youth matches that weekend.

Hamer is s true humble man
I was in the Penny Black when he popped in.
He will love it at blades hopefully for years to come if as we do show him the affection.
How many players who leave have said my best days were at the blades .
To me he's better than Michael brown as quoted .
We are possibly 2 players away from being a top side .
