I would agree but for me Moore and Blackman as well as Wright and CCV/Basham are interchangeable and I don’t see weaknesses if we play any combination of these.

Not a lot to choose between Moore or Blackman imo.

The second best selection has Brooks upfront with Clarke, and the rest of the team the same, the midfield trio are crucial.

Completely depends on who we're playing and where. Big open pitch, Donaldson and Brooks. Smaller pitch, Clarke and Sharp. At home, Sharp should be starting every time probably, but not necessarily away.

This, along with Duffy Coutts and Fleck starting every week and we'll be fine.

I think i'm starting to prefer Baldock to Freeman because of his raw pace but there's very little in it. I also really like CCV as he can come out with the ball at his feet, while being able to deal with any target men shithouses AND his loads of recovery pace if he needs it.

But yet consistently, and frustratingly, lack end product ?

He’s good, but there is more than a wee bit of room for improvement. The good news is he has time on his side, and superb guidance from senior pros and management to fulfil the huge potential that is clearly evident.

But for me, at the present time, impact sub.

For me, that’s mine, and certainly my preferred midfield and attack in any permutation. To be honest though, so long as the midfield 3 play I’m confident of a result with any of the rest of the squad slotting in, as they are crucial in dictating our style of play.

Fair play to Evans if he impresses after recovering from his injury, but till he actually does show something to justify starting how on earth can he be ahead of Clarke or Brooks in that position? In fact, dodgy performances vs Forest and last night accepted, I’d still start Donaldson over Evans based on the Sunderland performance.

It is my understanding that at the start of the season most of the squad were set a target internally by Wilder of the number of goals he wanted from them. Evans was not given a target. It's probably a leap from there, but I do wonder whether this was a sign that Wilder didn't expect to use Evans much. When (and if) he is fit I will be very surprised to see him start this season absent (a) an injury crisis (b) he scores a lot as a sub or (c) we end up in mid table and it doesn't matter.
