Old Photos For No Reason Whatsoever

Stringjunior thinks this photo, or at least one from the same angle and era, has been on this thread already about 6 months ago. Stringjunior believes this because he remembers showing Mr and Mrs Stringsenior the photo to see if they were on it - the Stringseniors always sat about the D of Dexel with Grandadstringsenior (or more correctly @GrandadBob). Mrs Stringsenior wasn't sure if they were or weren't on the photo.

Big Geof, Bonnetti (partially hidden), Hudson, Hollins, Webb and ? Guess it's our "Storming start season 71-72" ended by Best's miskick a few weeks later with "that goal" (yawn).

Topps thought we wouldn't notice them putting a picture of Geoff Salmons in his Blades kit for their Stoke collection in 1976...

And the Wolves player is Steve Daley aka "biggest waste of money in football history". Moved to Man City in 1979 for a fee of £1.45M

I used to sit next to Steve Daley at school, Holy Rood Barnsley. Never did much work as one of the teachers used to have him football training all the time. I later played in local football against him sometime late 1960’s, he played for Cudworth United.
Wolves had a development club in the Dearne Valley called Wath Wanderers, Ron Flowers was a recruit. Steve Daley obviously played for them.
Never saw Steve again until he turned out for Burnley against United at Turf Moor under John Bond.
Can’t remember the year but think they beat us 3-2, early 1980’s I think

Silent ?

Daley and Bond were at Burnley in 1983-84 season. We lost 2-1 at Turf Moor that season

Cheers Silent I’m getting worse. Remember that John Bond walked the length of the pitch, sauntered more correctly, in a long grey herringbone coat ( or was it leather), a poor mans Malcolm Allison.

Brian Flynn was in the Burnley side, can’t remember who was in ours.

Ah John Bond, the only man more obsessed with his son getting a game than Steve Bruce.
