Got the Derbyshire County permit mainly Dove and Derwent.

I had membership of DCAC for a few years but gave it up as I couldn't justify the cost of only fishing their waters a few times a year. My pal still has membership though so I get the use of his guest tickets. ☺Your Tiln Lake is very good if it's not too weedy and the river there holds some very good chub and barbel but they take a bit of stalking.

I've been in my club over thirty years and now get free membership. Great being able to hop into the car, be at Ladybower in half a hour and fish for nowt. Our bit of the Trent regularly turns up double figure barbel if anybody can be bothered to fish it, had a look in the summer and the river was almost inaccessible except for a couple of spots. Bit of a shame really.

Summer 1968. Look at Mick Hill's hair style! First Blade player to grow long hair? Always thought it was TC?

I would say it was more of a Mod style a la Steve Marriott from The Small Faces rather than long hair. Truly long hair only started a year or so later following the burgeoning rock scene. Think I'll crack out the King Crimson and see if 21st Century Schizoid Man still sounds as good today as it did in 1969.

Would be considered rather sexist today. How many women drink from tiny tankards anymore?

In my day (kinell, how old am I?) no self respecting woman would be seen holding a pint.

The first time I saw it was in the Old Trip to Jerusalem in Nottingham when an American couple walked in and ordered two pints and the woman rather self consciously drank it. I think they must have thought this was the cultural norm, but it wasn't.

Your other half would sip half a pint or, if you were feeling posh, a Martini and lemonade with a glacé cherry in it. Under no circumstances would a pint be drunk.

Even the ladies of easy virtue and the fur coat and no knickers brigade, would only drink a pint if it came with an empty half pint so they could surreptitiously decant one into the other. Them were days.

Bet he used to go in the Penny Farthing

I’m sure I can remember Mick Hill scoring the winner against Leeds late Sixties

The ladies of easy virtue I knew drank Barley Wine (or Rohypnol as it's called these days)

Spent many a Friday & Sat night drinking here in my early drinking days remember watching Barry McGuigan bt Eusebio Pedroza in there to win world title , it was rammed to rafters and atmosphere was like being at the fight .
Used to be loads in there I knew and always a good sprinkling of fanny View attachment 31911

Used to go in there on a Saturday afternoon after work for a bit of dinner and a go on the Terminator 2 Pinball Machine

You a member of Ranmoor Picscatorials?

Mick Hill used to live at David Munks house in Greenhill village. Next door but one to Dixon's fish and chip shop and opposite Jordanthorpe boys school annexe.
