It's pretty simple. There's two tiers of clubs in the Prem- the elites and the also rans.

When it comes to pinching Wilder:
1. None of the elite clubs will want him
2. None of the also-rans are worth going to

2. Is true whilst the Blades are pushing at the top of the Champ. If the Blades weren't pushing the top of the Champ then the also-rans also wouldn't want him.
