Very thoughtful and complimentary posts. I feel I have entered a parallel universe where everything is the opposite to what I have been used to!

For a good 15-20 years most Ipswich supporters have generally regarded us as a somewhat industrial, long ball side. It's gratifying to know that (unlike our neighbours) they have seen straight away that we are no longer that type of side and can actually play a bit.

To be fair, that's probably the most missed chances we've had in a game, even though we played well I'd say 'worst home performance' isn't too bold a statement. But if that is what we are judging as bad what do we have to fear from anyone??
I though it was our poorest performance this season. What a measure of how far we've come! :)

Cheers Roy. Very balanced and complimentary comments. Walking to the station yesterday talking to a Canterbury based tractor boy and he said we were a good side and he loved bdtbl. utb

I thought we were outstanding in the first half, but just couldn't find a way to put the ball over the line. They were dangerous on the break.

Decent comments, and I don't think any of their fans (who attended) would be upset at a 1-0 loss.

Oh, and a belated well done to Bolton.

UTB.

Generally the media are still stuck with our previous image. They'll learn!1

I would like a pint of whatever the blades fan ,who told them it was out worst performance of the season , was drinking. I thought Ipswich were good at the back a lesser defence would have been humiliated .

Two things am loving amongst millions of others:

When big hitters like couts aren't available we've got cover raring to make an impression, and I look at our bench and we've got options capable of making a big impact. On our budget that is a huuuuuge achievement.

Can't be us they are talking about surely everyone hates us. Can't get used to seeing others compliment SUFC

ironic how one comment mentioning a blades fan saying that was our worst home performance of the season was walking down the steps from the kop and everybody agreed that was one of our most satisfying and best results at home

Would suggest the blades fan who made that comment stay away from the Lane, if they were not happy with that performance yesterday, nothing will ever please them, Jeez.

“Mick will be delighted with holding Sheff Utd to a 1-0 loss. “Let me tell you,not many teams will achieve a 1-0 loss against that lot”

Your daaaaaaaaamn skippy!

Sorry for the lateness. Got hammered last night. Still pissed now to be honest. Amazing what a good side can make you do. Might sue Wilder for liver disease

Its perfectly allowed under Wilders revolution to get hammereed after a glorious victory - I joined you last night and may there be many many more .......

Can you imagine how the snort beasts must be feeling about that?

Praise and admiration from others is a lovely compliment. :)

I can think of one lot who do....

Heehee yeah but I think they possibly hate themselves more at the moment...:D Their normal all-consuming hatred of us has been temporarily hidden under a blanket of bewildered incomprehension about what we’re doing. And they hate themselves for not being able to replicate what we’re doing, even though they’ve been in La Liga a lot longer than us and they pay squillions more for their players. :p:D

I still don't understand why every team in the league underestimates our "nobody" (as Wednesday like to put it) midfielders

Fair comments really.

I think what's most satisfying for me, and it's reflected in these comments, is that we aren't winning games just by making every game a cup match and going crazy for the wins, we look like a proper Championship team. No plucky underdog victories by turning games into a scrap. No signs that we're playing above ourselves and won't be able to sustain it. Yesterday wasn't our best performance in terms of excitement and incident, but we played yet another established Championship side and for large parts of the game we looked to be the better time while also being comfortable.
Ipswich's visit to us was described on Radio Suffolk news this morning as a "big ask". So already people are recognising we are good Championship side
