Lundstram played well today

Looked like he's getting used to the speed of The Championship today and proved he could put a real shift in for 90 mins. His range of passing was good, with both feet; he also put in a few great challenges.

All that said, he helped confirm for me just how good Paul Coutts has become.

The sign of a good central midfielder doing what he needs to do in order to let those with more flair do what they need to do.
The best midfielder we’ve had in the last 5 years was renowned for his unseen work

Thought today was going to be a big test without Coutts, Lundy played well and fitted into the system well, we beat a good hardworking team today. Can’t believe how good we are Playing and like many others can we dare to dream!

Oh good, another Lundstram thread

Let's see if we can get to 7
He has adapted well and his proving to be a good signing.
The only two signings so far not to have made the first squad are Nathan Thomas and the 6.4 centre half recently signed from Scotland, name escapes me at present,
UTB

He did well and I think, like most players under wilder, he’ll get better.

UTB!

He had a decent game, but it showed Coutts was missing after we took the lead. We and Lundstram himself gave away the ball when they had better options.

Just spoke to my old man on the phone (he sits south stand i sit family corner) both of us for the 1st time were impressed by young John, big and strong, won plenty of headers and tackles, passed well and he's one of Sir Wilders "one for the future" signings! Well played young man, and no doubt you'll only get better!!

Every player CW has signed seem to get better every game . A few tore into him in his debut games but our system is quick passing and movement and needs players like him who CW can see can adapt to it. He will continue to improve

Biggest plus for me today. Showed he can come in and not look out of place.

And he proved me wrong cos I wasn’t convinced at all.

Well done Lunny laaaaaaad

I was really impressed by him and was one of our better players today.

Obviously he was always going to struggle to keep the shirt when Coutts is back, but I don't see how he could have done much more to stake a claim and give Wilder something to think about.

He covered for Coutts well and currently that’s all he needs to do. So no problem for me.
The part of his game that impressed me most today was his two-footedness. I was with 2 neutrals that were overall very impressed with our play today, but commented after the game they genuinely could not tell if he was left or right footed.

I had the same problem with Montgomery.

I thought the lad did well tbh. I thought the same at Forest 2 weeks ago. I wasn’t impressed at first but I give the lad credit for a decent performance today. Big boots to fill but he gave everything. Well done lad!

He did well today but I think winning a game and the general feel good factor are making some peoples reviews a little generous.

He didn't have a bad game, but was far from amazing. Certainly not a patch on coutts!
