We would have 3 more points on the board if he would have played against Norwich thrives on half chances.
Welcome back Bill

Thread been going 2 and a half hours and no Tyler Durden yet.

Can we conclude he is a Billy hater and only bigs him up when it suits?

Obviously no excuses like family crises, out on the piss, marathon international shagging session etc, can be entertained.

We'd have had at least 2 less points if he'd played in the Sheffield derby because he wouldn't have been able to win the ball in the air and pull their central defenders all over the place like Clarke did. Brooks rightfully took MOTM, but Clarke was immense that day.

The combination of Clarke and Brooks together is the most effective we've seen so far. Sharp has his place and as a poacher, a "fox in the box", he's one of the best in the business at this level. But I wouldn't change from Clarke/Brooks just to accommodate him back in the team when those two are playing so well together. To do that would be to base the team selection on sentimentality over effectiveness. But, I think, this is something many on here would choose to do perhaps, because Billy is God and he's their idol and that's all that matters to them.

I would always put Billy in the team when we play at home. The style we play at the Lane suits his game and he is a goalscorer simple as. Imo you'd be daft not to include him when he's 100pc fit in the side.

On the opposite side of the coin though, I would be accepting of Billy being on the bench at away games, as his lack of pace means that he isn't as effective when we play away from the Lane. Note the lack of touches and scoring chances he has had in some games away when he just hasn't been involved in the game i.e Boro. For the away games I would start with permutation of 2 out of Clarke, Brooks and big Clayton. All three suit the away style better imo.

Billys a home bird. Poor form aside (if he was to have a run of poor form that is) he should start in games at the Lane when fit. Hes our captain leader and a damned good player.

Keep Clarke and Brooks both doing a good job, bring Billy on after 70 minutes to freshen it up

Yes, it is a 'well known fact' we would probably have lost with Billy in the team. Probably 10-0 to them, or worse.

It is not the 'god' or the 'idol' thing that matters to most sensible Blades.
It is his 30 goals last season and the 4 this season that matter to most.
It reflects ill on you that you cannot recognise that.
