Of the 2,700 or so tickets allocated to Blades by Sheffield Wednesday, what percentage was creamed off for the directors, corporate bodies, players, and other hangers-on? Seemingly, Gary SInclair bought his own ticket, but Harry Maguire phoned up and got six(?). I ask, because I had 39,000 loyalty points but by Wednesday lunchtime of that week, they'd all gone.

What are the rules?

By the sounds of it the rules are be a professional footballer and get as many tickets as you want.

I was in the same situation as you but it's history now.

Let it go, you'll be much happier in the long run :)

The rules are; the more money you have, the more likely you are to have a good life and be at the front of the queue, not the back.

Wonder how many loyalty points Kell Brook had?

Tufty didn't slip you one?

bet his barber got one...

Not happy celebs get them unless they have the points, what did that advert used to say, 'the most important people for any business are the customers'.

Harry Maguire and any other long serving Blades player have more loyalty points than any of us fans.

This winds been blowing some sand into some crevasses today hasn't it?

Whereas some people are just constant crevasses.

The original poster raised a valid question and for what it's worth, i think they have a point. Why should an ex footballer of sufc who was employed by the club and was paid handsomely for doing so, ring up at the drop of an hat and get preferential treatment for themselves and their entourage, over someone who has probably been all over the country to watch Utd and paid a handsome percentage of their much smaller wages for the privilege?

They shouldn't.

And no, I didn't go to Pigsborough nor did i want to go either, so it's not sand in the vagina syndrome for me. I can just see what's fair and what's not. Clearly unlike some others who are far too much in love with their own ego and self satisfied smugness.

But why should they? Genuine question. I consider myself to be a far bigger Blades than Harry Maguire will ever be, despite never actually playing for Utd myself.

Should Terry Curran be considered as being in front of 99.99 percent of other Unitedites....cos he once played for us?

Sorry, it's bollox. Maguire played for Utd cos it was his job and he was paid to do so. It shouldn't be a case of jobs (or tickets) for the boys. Still that's how the world works so I can accept that, just dont expect people to think it's 'all above board and fair'

Let's put it another way. If I caught Billy Sharp in bed with my Mrs. I would tuck him in and ask if he wanted a Hot Chocolate.

Harry Maguire earnt his loyalty points on the pitch turning out ~160 times in a blades shirt. And he was a youth player that came through the ranks so gets double brownie points.

Maybe perusing the forum to see if it had already been discussed rather than days later might have given him a clue. He even questions his own question about Maguire having six.

Most people who do actually travel all over the country watching United probably got a ticket btw.

This is nothing new either, but people only care when it affects them.

Clearly you have all the details and numbers given to these entourages and hangers on?

Good you've got it all of your chest though.

"All above board and fair"

I never said that - has anyone, because you used it as a quote?

Here's my take on the loyalty system from two different threads about the loyalty system.

Note - i have never not managed to get a ticket for a game i wanted to attend BUT, i do feel the system needs looking at.

Yes someone has used that phrase. Me. I was using the quotes to emphasis my point. Glad to be of service.

Well possibly in your little world he might. Back on earth though where the vast majority of us reside, most of us would give the lad a serious slap. As much as I support the lads when they wear the red n white shirt on match day and I want them to do well, I gave up on hero worship a long time ago, co incidentally when I grew up.

The lad who raised the point has probably 'turned out' in a Blades shirt well over 160 times to watch United in his/her life time - and paid handsomely for the privilege. He or she gets quadruple brownie points from me. So on that basis, he or she should have been given preference.

I suppose the difference is that (whilst it would never happen) if I to go to the cinema and if the Queen walked in after me, I would expect her to que up behind me. I tend to go in for the fairness thing really.

Could I just ask how many loyalty points you have?

Really? Okay.....

Seeing as you are so on the ball though, you could have explained that 39k points were never going to get him a ticket as there were reportedly only 70 left after those with 40k points had theirs (l smugly suggested 40k would just about be the limit l'll have you know). There was of course the option of using ones noggin, going on the returns list just in case, which worked for my son. Sadly that was points based though he still wouldn't have got one. In effect, even if there were around 900 freebies - highly unlikely -,he'd got no chance. As common sense should have told him.

I didn't get one for Forest but managed to remain sand free

Good for you. Neither did I, and I was also happy as a sausage in a hot dog bun.

And if you was as on the ball as you like to think you are you might have noted that i wasn't making the case that he or she should have got a ticket with 39k points or however many they have. I pointing out that the Harry Maguires rocking up with his entourage (probably a very good chance that they all haven't got 39k points each) probably got preferential treatment from the club over a non former player and just a regular paying fan, and if they did...they shouldnt have.

You can ask alright mi old mucka but I dont feel obliged to tell ya.

For what it's worth, I have enough points to be content with. It's not a major issue in my life if I miss a Utd game cos I also have a life outside sufc.

Didn't go to Pigsborough. Wild horses wouldn't have dragged me in either as I can't stand the place.

I didn't claim to be on the ball. I suggested, sarcastically - and clearly incorrectly - , that you were and therefore you could have worked it out for him.

I have no idea who Harry took or how many there were with him and no idea where six came from. I did see Kell Brook leaving the ground though, he appeared to be on his own.

I understood your point. My point was that whining two weeks later with little to no chance of a ticket at the time was a touch, shall we say, mardy? He also mentioned Directors btw, as if they had no right to be there. Even if they would be in the Pigs box rather than sat with the Blades.

Preferential treatment happens all the time. It's a fact of life, fair or not.

That answer is enough for me.

Here's mine, i'm not complaining and I got a ticket for hillsborough by placing myself on the waiting list.

I thought that players got allocated tickets and box holders got an away allocation, if mcabe wants to give maguire a few tickets (that’s where he got them from btw) then that’s up to him... possibly a player sorted kell out as well, these are tickets not up for sale in the first place aren’t they..

Simple question, would you have asked this if we’d have lost ?

However as far as I’m concerned they can shove swills up thier arseholes and I was much happier in a bar full of expectant armchair porkys seeing their first game of the season unravel in front of their deluded eyes... some stormed out and didn’t come back.. it was bliss... and I never gave that shower a penny..

Were Harry, Kell etc on the away end? know that up to the day of the game the pigs were offering 200 quid hospitality packages with a meal and a seat on their South Stand. Perhaps richer fans without the points should have been pointed in that direction
