Im sure some of you will disagree but after the last 2 games I don't want to see sharp and Clarke playing up top together. Leon and Brooks compliment each other so much.
Sharp and Donaldson have to partner each other as them too will also rip defences apart together. I just think Leon and Clarke together are times are frustrating to watch but both are quality forwards and look wasted at times - take Boro for example .Wilders got a real headache when all our strikers are fit . We're tearing this league a new one

Billy and Leon are similar players in that they are both good finishers and make decent runs. Their style is quite similar and In this league I think we could do with mixing it us with some pace and power (Donaldson) or some pace and direct running (brooks)

good options to have

Leon has to stay in on this form. So does Brooks. Then Sharp and Donaldson are considered first choice players. Duffy too. Wilder has some very hard decisions to make. Good problems to have though. But whatever he does, he'll get it right!

Wilder could chuck a Bourbon, Digestive or a Custard cream upfront and we'd still look like winning. The job Wilder is doing is getting that impressive and I'm almost expecting us to win every game. I hope on Saturday we take the biscuit out of Forest so my confidence doesn't take a dip instead.

That's a bit Rich Tea wizardy

Wilder picks players based on form. Which is the correct way. Until Leon or Brooks start to dip then they should stay first choice. Im sure Billy understands.

Remember when we we choosing from the likes of Porter and Higdon?

And then Sammon and Macnulty?

What a turn around!

Imagine what Wilder could do with Higgo...

Well that's one way of not giving Leon any plaudits

"Leon and Clarke together are frustrating to watch but both are quality forwards" - I thought this was just one person?

Totally disagree. They are very dissimilar players. Clarke has good aerial ability, strength to pull defenders all over the place and a reasonable amount of pace. Sharp has no aerial ability, he's strong but not in the same way that Clarke is with big defenders on him, and he has very little pace. Both score goals. That's about all they have in common. Clarke works better with Brooks.

I'm afraid there's no easy way back into this side for Billy - barring an injury to Clarke - which is highly likely I suppose.

Have to agree, and I don’t think Billy will mind fighting for his place. Good job, because he will have his work cut out.
When they are all fit, it will be some good competition for the starting place, but equally good for the manager as it allows him to keep freshening it up if players have a dip in form or bec9me fatigued. Also means strikers can maintain a higher work rate knowing we have a good sub waiting to come on.

Brooks will have a dip too as teams start to cotton on to him, the test for him will be to remain confident and develop further. He may go back to the bench again for a while but at the moment he’s certainly in the side on merit.

And when we missed out on Cole and Sinclair on deadline day everyone thought we were looking a bit weak up front...

On paper, compared to nigh on every other team in the division, we were

We were just all a bit silly to not factor in the fact we're fucking sick

You've took that post the wrong way, LSF. I was pointing out the job Wilder is doing is nothing short of a miracle.

Just for clarity, big Leon is proving me wrong on so many levels which I'm so glad to say, what I'm most impressed with other than his goals is his movement.

What's making him up his game though in my honest opinion is the fact he will have Donaldson and Sharp waiting to come in if he doesn't perform which at the moment means there will be a few splinters up Billys' and Claytons' arse.

At the risk of upsetting the Bladey Billymustplayatallcosts Brigade, you could see Leon and the Don together being a powerful force.

I got your gist Wiz but was just having a bit of fun with you about Leon as we've discussed him in the past. Plus you're a bloke who always seems to take a joke well.
You make some good points mate and it's looking rosy in all areas at the moment. Once all the front men are fit, an embarrassment of riches beckons!

At the risk of upsetting the Bladey Billymustplayatallcosts Brigade,

You mean the one that exists only in your head?
Is it a faction of the Bladey LetshaveWilderasmanger Brigade you were taking issue with just 15 months ago?

I think, in general, the belief is we play with whoever is scoring goals. When that was only Sharpe then he stayed in place, now it isn't he's got a fight on his hands.

Maybe the ones who wanted Sharp brought on at the Piggery to 'see him on the pitch' and because he 'really wanted to get on'?

Would these multitudes of Blades also happen to be made of straw?

Perhaps you'd like to point to more than one or two posts/tweets etc, to back up your 'facts'?

I'm happy for whoever does the best job for us to get the starting shirt. I don't give anyone a head start (or indeed a handicap in one notable case) because of where they come from or who they happen to support. I've no time or tolerance for parochialism.

Fair enough and I can't argue with that.

Now, about these 'multitudes of Blades' you were talking about earlier?

If wilder has a headache regarding his options up front, what about at the back, we were talking last night about strearman, our biggest purchase now being ready for contention, how does he get in the squad nevermind the first eleven, if lets say JOC/BASH /CCV all start, it would be harsh on Wright but, well it happens when you are successful, but he would get on the bench, we wont surely put another centre half on the bench so strearman is waiting for suspensions or injury, cannot,at the moment see a drop in form from any of them, as they say, a good problem to have.
