The oinkers will chortling and saying "Who?" , as they do about Coutts.

Hopefully, by about 3pm Sunday, they'll know exactly who.

By the way, he's smiling in that photo, but every time I see him close up, usually when he comes across to take a corner, he looks as though he wants to fight, somebody, anybody, in a way that only Scots can do :-)

Just need JOC to sign up now!

Great news and a boost before the Derby

Whoa! That came out of the blue!

Considering the impact Fleck has had since signing for United, this is wonderful news. Well done Flecky, he's obviously happy at the club and this shows in the performances he's put in. Four years too, just goes to show how highly Wilder rates him. Great news ahead of the derby UTMB!!!

happy days - now the other one in midfield should hopefully get a new deal too, to think he was transfer listed by Wilder, but they are both Instrumental to how we play and fit very well.
Coutts got a 2 year extension before the season. Shorter because he's older I would imagine.

This has made my week. no sod it month, we are really building a great squad going forward. This team will be together for the next few years improving under wilder. Things really are positive for us blades. We just need a result at the sty and my life will be complete!

Here you are.........a few gems from the Coventry board by "roys view from" after Fleck had agreed to sign for us.

UTB

“Why would fleck want to go #sufc they play the hit and hope football. he’s better than that!!”

“What will be great if we get promoted and SUFC don`t

“Fleck has had one good season out of four. Even at times last year we carried him. Not sure I’ve ever seen him win a tackle either. Would rather have kept him and would have had no problem with him going back to Scotland or moving up a league but Sheffield United???? Really strange. Money talks I guess.”

“Sideways move which will suit Fleck as it’s his favourite direction.

Joking, he’s a good player but one we’ve already replaced so not gonna get too hung up about it.”

“We have been carrying him, I have never seen him a decent 60 mins let alone a whole game, average.”

“Not rubbish I don’t believe, but yes, overrated. I would have been very surprised had he gone to the Championship.

When he is on his game he is very talented, but he disappears too easily and very rarely puts in a 90 min performance.
He can’t tackle and he doesn’t score anywhere near enough.”

“He is average even for League 1.”

“ it might mean the midfield can pass the ball forward and actually make an effort to get into the opposition box.”

“won’t be sorry to see him go. Too hit and miss and if we want to play one touch football and have a bit of pace about us then I don’t think he’s the man.”

“Hardly stand out in this league anyway”

“only played for half the season nearly always passes it backwards and plays way too deep”

GET IN!!!

Thought this might have just been another wanker post at first!

Absolutely brilliant news and a very pleasant surprise.

Well done to United for being smart and pro active here, this is exactly what I've been calling for - protecting our assets.

Great boost ahead of the derby.

O'Connell and Brooks next I hope.

Really nice of Coventry to give their fans a heads up of today's announcement though.

Good news just before the weekend, well done Wilder, Knill and the board, good news keeps on coming

I thought Brooks already had? Sure it was a two-year one.

I thought Brooks already had? Sure it was a two-year one.

Signed it back in February.

His current deal expires in 2019, as O'Connell's does and as Fleck's did.

If we've sorted Fleck's contract out now I'm sure the club are also in the process of sorting O'Connell's, maybe Brooks too.

It's the right time to do it - before they get too close to their last year.

No doubt some will see this as a cast iron guarantee that we're selling him in January!

Well if it is at least we'd get a good price for him instead of panic selling him when he's in his final year.
That's the way to realise a players true valuation ( A long contract )

A no brainier from the club, he's a joy to watch even when he's not fully on it.

One of the best midfielders in the league and could comfortably make the step up, so a four year deal is about right. Well done Blades, keep up the good work.
