Having seen the video, Coutts obviously knows what he's doing in blocking the man off the ball. Foul, yes, but there's no malicious intent to cause harm there surely?

If he gets suspended for this it's an absolute outrage and 100% a stitch up

Saw this happen right in front of me Saturday - at the time I thought he was lucky to have not been sent off. After seeing the footage again (and considering how easy Norwich were going down) I think it was more arm than elbow. Little daft by Coutts but in retrospect not a sending off. FA will probs make an example of us though after the bottle throwing

I think if it had been seen on the day it would have just been given as a yellow, and that would have been the end of it. Down to 10, no Norwich complaint, no FA probe, matter dealt with.

This is a blow as Coutts has been outstanding this season so far. I'd be thinking about playing Samir or pushing Bash up into midfield. Coutts will be a big miss though.

But...I think Clayton will be fit. Hopefully Billy and Leon will be able to play some part.

Possibly worth a second yellow, but you can't give retrospective second yellows, only 3 match bans for what should have been straight reds.

All eyes are understandably on the derby but with Wolves and Forest following closely behind we could easily follow the four straight wins with four straight defeats.

Cheers foxy yep that looks like a yellow but as you can't give retrospective yellows he will probably get a red. I think he could ask for a personal hearing though,which would delay the ban, but I'm not 100 percent on this.

That looks worse on that angle than it did at the time. I suspect it will be a ban too. I've sympathy for players that are suspended for genuine attempts to challenge players for the ball, but Coutts has let himself down there. Let's hope the damage over the games he might miss is minimal...

It's a forearm to the upper chest/neck area. His wrist might have caught his chin. I don't think there's any intention to connect with his face/head. The pathetic cunt certainly makes the most of it.

Could go either way. But because the derby's coming up I fully expect him to get suspended.

Elbow...Fist...Hand....matters little. He raised his hand. The ball was long gone also. If it has gone to the FA, it will be a 3 match ban.

Ironic if morons in charge on Sunday had seen it they may have gone with a yellow maybe meaning a red and 1 match ban. Now they will make it a straight red.

What I want to know is how do they know..ref has not seen it, linesman saw it and gave nothing. Have Norwich reported it? Do we now have a case where clubs can send video evidence if they feel agrieved or do the FA trawl through games to find such incidents.

Genuinely no idea as if not in the match referees report - seem only in Prem when games are more high profile/televised and every incident is poured over; more action is taken.

Seems lower down leagues you get away with a lot more.

Like with goal line technology where half the Champ have but half does not.

If the ref sees it then by the laws now in place; its a red card. The issue is what was the linesman playing at.
