Scored the goal at Burnley. Am trying to remember who were the opponents when he did his achilles at the Lane EndThought he'd done it at Burnley away?

When Onuora signed for us, Warnock called him "The best ever Bosman signing!" which I found strangeFair enough I seem
To recall Onura was much derided and the Chief being much better received.
I'm sure Blades of a certain vintage will remember Feb. 18, 1989. The Blades were in Division 3 and would be promoted at the end of that season. Dave Bassett had guided us to the 5th round of the FA Cup and we faced Norwich from the top flight at Carrow Road. Around 5,000 Blades made their way to East Anglia using any means of transport (including, according to legend a furniture van). 1-1 at half-time with a goal from Deano, an heroic display saw a goal from Agana before we unluckily lost 3-2.
11th May 1991, the last game of the season and the kop roof had been removed prior to making it all-seater. It seemed that everybody wanted to be on the kop that day and the laughable official attendance of 21,019 surely only counted those on the kop.
23rd April 1994. Although hovering near the foot of the PL table, United finally found some form and lost only 2 games out of the last 13 - beating Liverpool, Newcastle and West Ham in this run. A trip to Carrow Road with just four games left saw Nathan Blake score the only goal in a fine 1-0 win. "And now you're gonna believe us, the Blades are staying up!" roared the Blades fans and the Norwich fans applauded us.
Unfortunately, just 14 days later, a 3-2 loss at Chelsea (and an unbelievable sequence of events in other games) saw the Blades relegated from the PL.

Ten Heuvel? The next Dennis Bergkamp!Warnock said a lot of strange things like that Dutch striker was "the best finisher" at the club. Or signing that bloke from Stockport and calling it a Coup. Or saying that Michael Browns replacement was at the club. Etc etc

Yea that fucking hurt,bad day
Billy Russell scored after about 3 minutes at my end ( bramall lane ) it looked at that stage like we would walk it! not to be they equalised and played the latter stages of the game with Northcott goalie struggling with a damaged arm .F.A. Cup. 1959. 6th Round. Drew 1-1. Lost replay. Crowd: 57000. I was 11 and remember it well.
Great occasion and atmosphere with capacity crowd and marvellous away following..
Was there in 1989 too. Great game, best side lost.
Think it was early into a season (2003?) where we won 1-0 at home, with the only goal in the game being Rob Page's only goal for us. A drive from the right corner of the box that was David Holdsworth esque.
That final game on the old lop and getting sunburnt to fuck
Yep, the top of my bonce was redder than the stripes on everyone's shirts. 2-0 win, Agana both goals.
This game. Dean Ashton bossed us all over the place.

Norwich were promoted from the 3rd division that season. They lost to Luton Town in the semi but walked out of the 3rd division.
Some matches mentioned.
88/89 cup
Beckford in goal
Scramble
"On the ball City, never mind the danger,
Carry on, now's your chance,
Hooray it's a goal"
Sticks in the mind from 1959. Exceptional day in a Blade's life all those 58 years ago.
Stood up in the Shoreham corner with John Street with my mother and her pal, got there when the gates opened. Pack-up, sweets, looked down on the ground as it filled. Swaying Kop, deafening roars, 90% were smokers in those days, plenty of cigars matchdays. 3 sided ground, 57000 crammed in to 3 sides with plenty watching from around the cricket pitch. Some big games we constructed temporary seating on the cricket pitch, not sure if the Norwich game was one of those but I don't remember it there that day.
Burnley 6th round was a year or so later. So was SWFC who beat us in front of another full house.
Great memories Finlay.
