What I t I think is that the McCabe's are going to hold on to the property assets ,you saw the plans last week ,develope the lane and get a better return off our Saudi friends .win win all round

The appointment of Mr Yusuf Giansiracusa as a director is interesting. A Saudi lawyer with a focus on mergers and acquisitions. Maybe it's just Princes best pal... buuut....

Well can they start by completing the development as shown on those wonderful pics and animated video from the other thread then please :)

My default reaction to the McCabe's potentially exiting stage left isn't positive.
For all the grumbles on here, KM made what he believed were the best decisions for the club at the time and put significant funding and time into the club.
I actually liked having a McCabe on the board so the fans had one of their own in there.
Whoever comes in next has a lot to deliver to match what the McCabes have done, and I wouldn't be too giddy for us to go chasing the money. I just hope we get someone who has the club as much at heart as the ones walking out the door, even if we have to put up with some of the odd decisions.

Is it a co-incidence that these things happen after the transfer window closes?

I remember the prince got involved the very next day after the August window closed a few years ago. Always struck me as pertinent, but no real idea why!
No it's purposely, they stated it in the release.

Don't know why though, guess cynics will say so he doesn't have to spend any money but that doesn't make sense.

have to echo that

for every takeover that's gone well, there's 6 that have gone down the shitter

Yeah but think reasonable ticket prices, think a brilliant manager being left to do his job, think not having the kits/badge/name not messed around with, think not leaving Bramall Lane for some out of town bland dome
Spot on. Quick question off thread!. Do you live in woolton, Liverpool?. Utb

they announced it after the transfer window (first time around) because the club didn't want it public knowledge in case of clubs inflating target transfer fees

It's the beginning of a sell out to a foreign consortium.

That's all.

Summat going on, that's for sure.

My bet is that this is not about concentrating on other areas of the Scarborough empire but maybe the first move in Kevin selling the club ?

The Prince does not have the money himself but surely he knows people.

Whatever, do not fuck up the next move and keep the club in good hands.

Yusuf is a new name but sounds like he's American but very well connected in Saudi.

Unfortunately, a lot of these overseas buyer's like to bring in their own over sea's managers and players. Please some I suppose, having player's whose name nobody can pronouns is something of a status symbol these days....:(

Bet HRH can't pronounce Tufty reight, we'll be reight.

As long as they keep and back wilder I'm happy
Yes that's exactly the same thought I have ! Maybe now they are comfortable with the manager they are happy to move things on in terms of investment ! Could all be a load of hype though. Either way, good times at BDTBL at the moment

I hope that all this recent clap trap about McCabe's not putting enough money etc hasn't caused him to get fed up and give up. I hope that this all has a positive outcome and not end up with us doing a "Chesterfield".

Just when things were looking stable and promising

If it's a takeover gerron we it. Rather have Saudis that dolphin killers. They like luxury, quality and success. Standing on principals and morals has not done McCabe or United much good since we were in the PL.

One concern is if they back Tuffty or bring in some Jonny foreigner to run the club.

Not sure I'm keen on the Mcabes seeming stepping away. I.e no longer being on the board. Maybe it's a case of Prince looking after the footy finances and Mcabes doing the infrastructure bits like the stadium.

Either way I did feel a little uneasy reading this. Mentions of Saudi money and investment just worry me seeing what's happened at s6. No kit, players fighting, stupid prices, chairman's name all over the stadium. Imagine sufc being taken out of the Kop and replaced by Saudi Sand. Not for me.

Can't see Kevin McCabe retiring until he has finished the job ,which is returning the blades to the premier league.
He has said as much in a number of his interviews.Once that is achieved could be he will retire and possibly still keep the. McCabe share in the club.
Having gone through all the trials and tribulations the club has gone through I think he will not relinquish his 50% ,
He's seen the demise of a number of clubs ,he would not risk us going the Same way
If he's as big a blade as he claims he surely wouldn't risk us going the same way.
