A run of key injuries would cause us real problems as cover doesn't look great in CM or up front. Otherwise we should be mid table I'd thinkI reckon we'll end up somewhere aroun 10th to 14th. I got out of bed on the right side so I plumped for 10th. Reasonably content with the window, would have liked a pacy option up top and the lack of cover for Coutts and Fleck in particular could cause issues later in the season. Given we've been out of the league 6 years I think we will do just fine. I've not seen anything to make me too nervous so far.
Take your point. It's a tricky situation, upgrading Coutts or Fleck, i.e. someone who would come straight into the first team, would take big money (which we clearly haven't got). So we're left trying to bring in decent squad players who can fill in when called upon and push for a first team place. Leonard would have been a good option but we couldn't get it over the line and we are now looking a little thin in that department. I can see the lad Whiteman being recalled in Jan for this reason. The positive outcome is that the likes of Whiteman and Brooks can see a route into the first team which is important for their development and for us to keep hold of them. I'm glad that we have not gone down the route of getting bodies in the sake of it.A run of key injuries would cause us real problems as cover doesn't look great in CM or up front. Cardiff ripped us to bits and Middlesbrough should've.Seen nothing in this division yet which worries me.
5th
The question is where do 'you' expect us to finish in the league after Jim White day? The key word being 'you'.I think a few might be over reacting to the win over Derby.
For me 'expectation' should be the position you'd be slightly disappointed to finish below, based on a logical assessment of all the relevant factors and information.
Is it really reasonable to be disappointed to finish below 10th?

We look strong at home but our two away games have seen one way traffic
We were playing away, that's what I said.Boro' were supposedly one of the big hitters and apart from the goal didn't force a save from Blackman. We also had a perfectly good goal disallowed. We were playing away too. Cardiff are clear leaders at the moment and are the form team. The Sunderland game will give us a clearer picture as on form we should beat them. 5th with about 75 points, yeah I'm sticking to that as our home form will see to that and our away form will pick up as the season progresses.
24th . And following our owners more recent lack of ambition in the latest transfer window I'd have gone for 25th if I could .

If you wanted everyone to agree with you then you probably shouldn't have asked it.
Are you trying to say some of us aren't using logic?![]()
With the squad we have, I would expect a solid mid table so I went for 12th. However where I expect us to finish and where I think we will finish are different. I think we might surprise a few and finish anywhere up to 5th.
12th and up and I'm very happy.
You were saying that people were overreacting to a win over Derby which I think is being a tad harsh.I'm not wanting everyone to agree, I'm stating an opinion and asking a question.
For me 'expectation' has to be completely fair, disregarding hope and optimism. 'Predictions' allow for those things a bit more. All things considered it wouldn't be fair to 'expect' above 10th, IMO. It wouldn't surprise me because we've got Wilder. But he'd do exceptionally well to get us that high and we shouldn't assume he will.
This guy gets it!

Some people might be liking what they're seeing, realising that we've started really strong at home and that CW can change what he's doing away from home as he has already shown many, many times before that he is not stubborn and can adapt. Why can't people expect us to finish higher than 10th?
No team has any devine right to finish in the top ten, you have to earn it.We were in L1 last season. We haven't spent a lot. We've not got one of the top 10 squads, IMO. It's a strong division with at least 13 teams who'd regard finishing outside the top 10 as utter failure. Predict top 10 by all means but I don't think it's an entirely fair expectation.
Go on then, which optimistic chuff put 1st?![]()
