Our 3rd goal for me. A combination of relief and ecstatic joy, and a fantastic end to a memorable game.

Also, the 'da da da da!.....fucking useless!' chants at the bumbling Derby players from H Block was funny. Nowt new of course but it tickled me more than usual.
^^^^^^^^
And the standing ovation for Russell when he was subbed, in recognition of his excellent finish into the bottom corner.

Here's hoping Derby have a Roy's view from and that they capture all of the above!

Flecks tackle
Billys goal at the end causing me and my boy to tumble over our seats onto the floor in the row behind
Giving Russell a standing ovation when subbed
Blackman running the full length of the pitch to get involved in the celebrations
A great atmosphere
An all round good day
There's a groundswell at BDTBL. Great time to be a Blade

That tackle from Fleck was brilliant, and crucial as well.

And when he won the ball in defence and kept it with two players on him and went on that run. If he'd scored it would've capped off one of the best moves I've seen in a long time.

I also maintain that Billys first goal was nowhere near as simple as he made it look. To angle the ball correctly, with the right amount of power from that distance and do it in a split-second whilst under pressure is no mean feat.

Said to my lad at the time that plenty of strikers would have missed Billy's first goal. The ball was coming towards him at pace and he had to place a first time shot between 2 opposition players and at one end of the goal to avoid Carson, all from distance For a player who is so fired up and passionate he has got ice in his veins when it counts.

Plenty of strikers would have taken a touch and then the narrow gap between the two defenders would have disappeared. Billy volleyed it back instinctively, and that is his greatest strength.

Still NKT called it right as usual; "Lucky old 'Billy Blunt' (again)".

They're just upset because they know that Jordan Rhodes would've soiled his shorts in that position and Forestieri would've demanded a wage increase for scoring.

A goal scored when the opposition keeper is one for the I-spy book.

When was the last time that happened?

Its all about speed of thought.
Billy probably thought 'cheers Carson' and picked his spot and calmly rolled it in.
Where a local striker who cost 10 million would have had time to think....
'its coming my way, oh no its coming my way, what if I miss, someone please foul me, maybe I should leave it for a team mate arghhhhh.

There were lots of good moments weren't they? It was a great all round performance from the lads, especially that first half when we made Derby look very average. Fleck's tackle was superb, I thought that kid was going to score for certain as he looked to have lost Fleck, then, he slid in and the chance had gone. Brilliant! I thought Billy was excellent throughout the match tbh - and the way he took both goals, with such speed of thought and accuracy in placing the shots was top drawer. I also thought the programme seller, "Programmes 3 quid" was in fine voice throughout the afternoon once again.

All of the above, plus the "United are back, United are back, Hello, Hello!" from the G + H.

Yes that brought some memories back, bit unfortunate that the song is connected to a vile pervert, it's a great chant

I've been in the crowd for Deane vs Grobelaar (1992), Saunders vs Musselwhite (1998) and CKR vs Jaaskaleinen (2006) – Sharp's (which I didn't witness live) is the first United goal I'm aware of from where the keeper has gone awol because he's headed up to the opposite end of the field for a set-piece. All 4 of these were at the Kop end too.

David Kelly v Alan Kelly, Blades v Blackburn in Sept 2000

Had completely forgotten about that. I don't remember that being from Kelly (Alan) going walkabout though – wasn't it a ricochet from a very tight angle after trying to clear a dodgy backpass to him?
Yes, at the Lane End . It was on a Friday night as match was televised live
