Central', I wasn't meaning the location - that would be the Peace Gardens (too open-plan and prone to the druggies, winos and beggars who blight every town centre). I was referring to Endcliffe's
ambience. Surrounded by fairly built-up environment with a low hum of traffic noise yet many opportunities to find a sun-dappled retreat where you can lose yourself for a bit. Like this:

On a separate note and the same area, I think the 'tree-huggers' who are objecting to Amey cutting down 'healthy' trees are talking bollocks. While nobody should applaud cutting down ancient trees, the ones on Rustlings Road (much like those on Sandygate Road) were planted eons ago when these roads were no more than cart tracks. Now they're busy roads and the roots are destroying the pavements. Get rid and plant more suitable trees.
