We're running out of options now and a potential rival has taken a good one. Much better than everyone we have bar Billy.

No, but a player only ever becomes an option when Wilder wants him.

Ergo, if a player is not wanted by Wilder, and then goes elsewhere, then our options have remained the same as they were before.

Nevertheless, I was gutted when Neymar went to PSG as he was a great option.
 
Some twatter mention or link with Sheffield United, some player suggestion made on here, some supposed ITK announcing interest, some good figures on FM18 do not and never have equated to genuine interest from Wilder. Further, any interest from Wilder does not equate to a possible signing, as alluded to above with Neymar, they may be out of our range or just not available.

Social Media has created false information, opinion, guesswork, mischief and chuff knows what that people swallow as fact and react accordingly. Mad!

Nowhere, anywhere has linked Mason to us.

But he's what we need(ed) and that's becoming more evident with every game that passes. Obviously very attainable too since he's gone to Burton.

Would he have improved us? Yes.
Were we after him? Absolutely no idea but he would've improved us and he's gone to a rival. Every reason to be annoyed because our strike force is nowhere near the required standard.

And if we weren't looking at him we should've been.

My take on it is that a poster on the Internet,is in a far better position to tell us what is needed for our team,than Chris Wilder,I for one am livid we have not signed this player,fuming

Joe Mason is better than Caolan Lavery, Ched Evans and Leon Clarke. And obviously James Hanson.

Life is full of people who now moan about stuff before it happens, then it doesn't happen anyway! Bonkers way of looking at things!

I'm mad with rage, Fred.

Two things are clear:

1. Tufty doesn't read the cumulative wisdom on here. I bet he doesn't even play Junior Computer Manager. If he did either, he would most certainly have signed the player in question without troubling to even watch him play.

2. Our recruitment systems are useless. Tufty, his coaches and scouts have obviously never heard of this player. He hasn't crossed our radar at all. At no time has any member of our football staff seen this maestro perform, whether by accident or design. They will know nothing of his style, background, strengths or weaknesses.

His very existence has just passed us by like a thief in the night.

Shameful.

Poor, poor stuff, United.

He won't. He doesn't. He's repeatedly been given good advice but refuses to heed it. A rather headstrong, impetuous young tyro, who may mature with age, but is presently showing no such signs, hence selecting and setting-up our (his) team against Brentford in such a way as to cope effectively with a player who was sitting in the stand serving a suspension.

Help is at hand. If only they'd ask...

Because we haven't been linked with them or they haven't been mentioned by Chris it's clearly a ridiculous notion for me to even suggest a player that would improve us.

I think it's probably two things...

A) The whole suggestion thing... suggesting to who? I find it all a bit weird... its pointless and all suggestion topics generally end up at 'you ain't got a clue mate'.

And

B) That people cry when we 'miss out' on players we were never interested in and seem to like to and build a negativity we don't need.

I guess it creates discussion tho. The same discussion. Over and over again.
 
That said... I find it funny how on one 'suggestion' thread... a player nowhere good enough for Wolves is a good option... but then on another thread a player in a similar position (just for a wankier club) Would be a terrrible option.

Opinion eh?

I understand your concern, I tend to agree that our forward options should be improved, like many.

However: The transfer window hasn't closed and Wilder intends to make more signings: can you save the woe and hysteria until the window has closed please?

I don't think so personally.

It's alright saying that but are they attainable? With them being Premier League players - wages have to be factored in.

That's true but would still be cheaper than a transfer with less risk. You also have to remember the 25 man squads often mean that there are players who become available at an attainable price.

Yes clubs want the full wages for their players now, but teams are now waiting till the transfer window as they will become cheaper.

Also just because a player is with a premier league player, it doesn't mean they are A) a premier league player and/or B) on premier league wages.
