Add to that the trickle down effect of Gylfi Sigurdsson joining Everton and Swansea signing Clucas for daft coin, Also annoying Wood fetched so much, just put a huge figure in another competitors pocket too

Yeah but you balance that out with losing the 25+ league goals he got last season.

Be a shame if Irvine goes to Hull but would make all kinds of sense if they are looking to replace Clucas. Never really felt like we were a likely destination for him - if he was moving on it was going to be to a side at the top of the championship pecking order.

If that's right about £2.5m and we weren't willing to pay that's disappointing but even if we did offer it, Hull would've matched it and beat him to us anyway. They'll pay at least 5-10k p/w more than us and he'll be a starter there too.
