Jeez Sam Clucas

I think Drinkwater's a very average player FB had a good/decent season in title winning team but Kante was the main cog in that midfield if Chelsea are willing to pay silly money for him I think Leicdster will cash in , maybe Conte is trying to pair them up again ? , but Leicester were all about the quick counter with Vardy & Mahrez not the slower possession game of Chelsea.
None of these players are game changers , grafters or work horses yes , ironically the type of player we need in a cheaper form .
I remember Schloes performance at the lane in PL , absolute class , tackled , linked up & showed the other 19 outfield players on the pitch how to pass , find space and show for the ball , in present Monopoly money market what would he be worth ?
Scholes? He'd be £120-150 Million I'd reckon, never going to get the merch sales going like Naymar hence why it would be that bit lower.

The market is ridiclous but he is a good player mind, would do well at a prem team like Burnley.

Fantastic workrate

At the risk of dragging up an old name was Clukas any better for Chesterfield than Morsy ?

We signed him for a couple of hundred grand, right? So, moving from league 1 to championship will have boosted his worth slightly, but he didn't even get in the league 1 team of the year last season. It's my contrasting opinion though that you are delusional if you think he'll be worth several million.

Guess that's why we have forums, but how much do you think he's worth??
Not sure what the relevance of his purchase price is Blader. There are plenty of examples of players being signed for modest fees only yo be sold on shortly afterwards for hugely inflated sums. What price would Dele Ali fetch in the current market? I would be very disappointed if JOC was sold for less than a million.

It doesn't matter what people on here think he's worth, if a club want to pay it they will pay it.
We'll continue to embarrass ourselves trying to get a player from League One Southend or Charlton on the cheap when they're already cheap signings in the first place

Well if we did knock them back it wasn't reported.

Not sure we will be saying "no this player is not for sale" anytime soon.

So you're saying that United have never rejected an offer for any of their players ever (except Maguire)?

Remember when we were allegedly looking at him when he was at Mansfield, but it never materialised and he ended up going to Chesterfield instead.

Fast forward a couple of seasons and Hull are wanting 20m for him.

The market is mental.
Swansea are buying him for 16.5m,,,,,,,,,Chezzy in the £'s.

Do you genuinely believe that load of bollocks?

I don't believe it
We normally reject the first offer

Then panic when the club doesn't come back with an improved offer and accept the second offer of less

Wonder how much Higdon would fetch in today's market then ?....

I've used a complicated mathematical algorithm, based on current transfer fees, player quality, etc.

Having run the figures, he's still worth fuck all.

Is there still a cattle market in Bakewell? I reckon you'd get a couple of quid for him, mainly for his tallow.

I went to a Toy Fair there recently and they'd got loads of posters up relating to agricultural sales, so I'm guessing they do.

In todays inflated market I suppose £2 is possible ;)

We have O'Connell, Fleck, Brooks, Freeman and Moore who would all fetch in over a million.

It only takes an impressive half a season in the championship and Baldock, Carruthers, Stevens, Basham, Lavery, Lundstram and Coutts would all fall under that bracket too. The rest are probably too old.

Well it is not that often we reject the first bid apart from in the case of Maguire. We still sold him for next to fuck all in today's market anyway.

Actually we sold him in 'yesterday's market' - but don't worry about a little thing like that ;)

Yeah I can understand you believing that load of bollocks as well, with you being the most negative person on the planet and all.

I'm enjoying this new trend of comments that goes along the lines of 'look at Naughton/Walker/Maguire etc we only sold them for £x which is nowt in today's market' missing the point that none of them were sold in 'todays market'.

They weren't sold in A recent market either

1980 market maybe

Really ????
So, we didn't go back to Hull cap in hand when they bluffed us into thinking that they had lost intetest and were looking elsewhere

Regardless
If Maguire played for Hull in the Championship and we were the Premier League club after him, and the only way to get him would be a £20000 A week contract he'd have stayed at Hull

You know it, I know it, and everybody else knows it as well

Won't stop you arguing the toss even though you know it

You said it like it's something we do every time. You've provided one example. Can you provide more? Can you even prove that's what happened with the example you have given?
