Just a thought/ suggestion, does any one think there's a chance of us possibly loaning one or two of Cardiff lads that are on the fringes of there squad? I'm on about some of the players with pace, like maybe Kadeem Harris? He isn't a goal scorer, but he is very fast and good on the ball.

To be fair, he has always looked decent when playing against us. The fact that Cardiff are built on a load of free signings says there are still some bargains to be had out there (although they did spend on Danny Ward and Lee Tomlin).

Signing of the season implies that he’s outperformed everyone else for the majority of the season – a season which is a few weeks old is too early to call that really. I think what you’re referring to is bargain buy of the summer so far… He’s certainly a bargain that’s for sure.

None of those are comparable at all. Mendez-Laing is in the form of his life, young and should only get better.

What I'm obviously saying is that he will be one of the signings of the season. I'm struggling to see a better value signing in the Championship, and I've paid attention to who clubs have signed.

For a Championship side to sign a free transfer from L1 who has and will have such a big impact is rare, especially now there's such a gulf between the divisions.

The closest I'd say would be Etheridge who also went to Cardiff on a free. A v good GK who is proving to be Champ level as a min.

Ahh, that would be Wolves 15m FC Porto captain and numerous other Porto loans who were first team, champions league playing players.

Jorge Mendes should be banned from football.

Treeton Blade said more than once that we were in for Mendez-Laing, and to me it also seems like an obvious link - free transfer, L1, played well against us, we will have watched Rochdale plenty, etc.

Definitely the one I'm most disappointed we didn't sign, especially after how he's started the season.

I think he was always more likely to go to Cardiff; established club, manager with a reputation for getting promoted and who seems to get better at man management as he gets older (apparently the players there think he's great, and it's not just him saying that) and probably better money than we could offer.
