but if we do manage to go up this (or any other season with CW in charge) what on earth will his transfer policy be then?!
With the way things are going, would he be able to stick with the current way of doing things (loads of Championship 'players of the season'/club captains on a limited wage kind of thing) or would he have to change his thinking somewhat?
I can't see him ever going all 'Neymar-like' but surely his/the club's policy would need to change a bit.......wouldn't it?

Wouldn't worry about it mate. All pie in the sky at this time.

The bottom line is we wouldn't be able to do the Prem on the cheap and expect to compete. Even good Championship players would cost a bomb and we don't do foreign.

yes it would. I reckon we'd have to bring in some talented foreigners for the first time. Maybe like this guy.

Quite possibly, but let's cross bridges when we get there.......certainly Wilder's mantra of maintaining some type of pat equilibrium will quickly fade, regardless of what's relevant now, at the top end we'll be competing with players and their agents whose expectations are completely different to what we're used to.
No doubt the money that comes our way will enable our wage bill to rise significantly. The one thing I know is that our previous attempts of Premiership recruitment, which were poor and at the lower end of the quality spectrum, will be a thing of the past. I think Wilder would adapt as he's shown he's more than capable of doing.

Please, let's just get to kick off!!!!!!!

Whatever level we are at Tufty will simply look to optimise the value from his expenditure against the available budget, which in the PL would be hugely increased by increased revenues.

At present there is no reason why that approach can't keep you in the PL at 8-15 level. If you want to go above that then it is Dorian Gray time - you sell your soul to the Devil - and lose your club.

But for now just be glad
The Magic is Back

All premature in thinking.
But I would expect a similar policy to what has worked before. And works for Burnley. Baggies.
Nowt wrong with a bit of Yo-Yo....in fact I would take that all day long over bottom half premier league for 10 years. Dullness personified.

If we get in the Champions League and have hundreds of millions to spend, I'm worried about whether Messi would like Sheffield as a city and if it'd put him off coming if he doesn't.

I was up last night worrying about it.

Huddersfield have spent £44 million since going up

That's about £34 million more than we would have done by this stage, and Stan & Laurel in the boardroom would convince everybody of their huge investment in the team

Did you mean Stan & Ollie, Laurel & Hardy or Stan Laurel - i.e. was it a poke at one or both of the guys who have put money in where they didn't have to?

Yes ha ha
I'm not sure how much of their own money they'd have to put in if we were promoted to the Premier League

But we would invest an absolutely huge 10 million or so in the transfer market, you can be sure of that incredible level of ambition

I'd imagine he'd do it similar to what Eddie Howe has done buying up and coming English players like Afobe, Ake, ibe etc

You must really have had to search hard to still be negative in recent months.
