How I rate my excitement to the start of the season

1. 1971-72 First division
2. 1970-71 My first full season
3. 2006-07 Back in Premier League and my son's first season in Premier League
4. 1990-91 Back in the top division after a 14 years absence
5. 2017-18 That feel good factor
6. 1975-76. New Stand.Thought we were going to be title challengers

I've been going regularly since 1976 and I have to admit this is the most excited ive EVER been for the start of the season.

I think the reasons are
1: The last game of the season against Scunthorpe with Adkins almost broke me, easily one of the lowest feelings I've ever had supporting the Blades because it finally sunk in that we could be in the 3rd tier for many many years and become a Notts County.

2: I'm not too bothered how the team perform as long as they give 100% and play like they care.
As Wilder says he orders the players they must 'leave it out there on the pitch". He's given us our club back and even amongst the fans we've got our pride and passion back, like the old Bassett days. I can feel this club really going places.

3: You can never gaurantee results, sometimes you're unlucky and lose, nothing you can do about it.
However you can control performances and last season United consistently put in good performances every match (apart from Walsall)
with occasional flashes of brilliant one touch quick passing which was a joy to behold and something rarely seen.

4: We never got the publicity we deserved last season and most people still have the perception we're a long ball Bassett team or a up and at em high tempo Warnock team. Well they're going to be in for a big shock when we have spells of knocking it around like Barcelona ha.

5: It's the renewal of the Steel City Derby, as mentioned in point 3 we might win, we might lose
However I'm very confident we'll put in a good performance playing some classy impressive football.
Wednesday fans don't even know what's coming their way yet but they'll learn soon.

Misread the thread title. Thought it said Start of the season excrement :D
Might be fitting cos a few are shitting themselves

Wednesday fans are nervously twitching whilst they keep repeating to themselves
'They've come up from league 1 so can't be any good, surely they'll get relegated"
'They'll struggle because it's such a massive step up from league 1 to the toughest league in the world".

I was exited, but just heard CW say 3 of our players are on the grass...after Jose I was hoping we'd seen the last of that sort of thing.

I'm excited as a man who's just head Kelly Brook and Jennifer Lawrence are moving in either side of his home and both are installing out door swimming pools in their back gardens.

96/97 was greatly anticipated due to our strong finish in 95/96

I'm as excited as Neil Shipperly almost being at the front of the queue in a chippy.

Not sure anything could top the last few months of last season, when we all started to realise that this really was the year we were going up, and in style.

As long as the lads give the same commitment on the pitch, week in, week out, giving their all, that's all we can ask for.

Odd folk in Lincoln...

There's an air of excitement amongst the football community in Lincoln right now, the local club are back in the Football League and they've sold upwards of 6,000 season tickets.

Bert isn't getting excited about anything though.

Best not to, at Bert's age...

Well done Lincoln.

Well I'm on holiday abroad, fly back 7 in the morning Saturday , so hoping that there is no flight delay, so I can make it in time! Will be time watching all the way home! Really looking forward to it. If I make it!

I'm really excited about the new season but I'm also a little nervous!!. Glad I've got 2 night shifts coming up as I doubt whether I'll sleep much on Friday night anyway!!. Am I right to feel a bit nervous?, any thoughts!.

I'm flying back from the Costa Brava tomorrow, hoping to find our season tickets on the mat when we get in........

Although she hardly missed a match last season, it's a first season ticket for my youngest so yes, very excited for Saturday.

Nervous about the result maybe
But surely you're relaxed and confident that we'll consistently entertain, play well and knock the ball around like Barcelona.
There's no pressure really so we can just sit back and enjoy.
