I'm afraid when it comes to a war of words, that's my territory. That's advice, not arrogance. I'm trying to assist you, but you throw

Unlike Walter Mitty who thinks he is CW's best pal and 'has his ear'.... 'pot, kettle, and black' spring to mind. Staggering really.

I said he "has my ear". I listen carefully to his public pronouncements. What he says and how he says it. I draw conclusions with a high degree of accuracy. It's a skill that can quite easily be acquired.

I'd have no qualms about giving him a chance at this level. He's earned as much. He's the old fashioned lewder type we've lacked since Morgs and yes he may be older and may never have played this level before but he was impeccable last year and deserves a shot on merit.

That you should temper your 'I'm always right' approach until you have a bit of wool on your back.

That you need to realise that a lot of people have seen, read, heard and learned a great deal more about football and life generally than you have.

You display a substantial streak of arrogance when, in truth, you are a novice with much to be modest about. For some reason you seem to be trying to establish some sort of reputation by seeking confrontation with me in particular. I'm afraid when it comes to a war of words, that's my territory. That's advice, not arrogance.

I've actually answered your question time after time previously. The fact that you ask it again only serves to emphasise the validity of what I say.

1. Wow

2. Kevin Blackwell has seen, read heard and learned more about football than you.

3. Wow. I seek confrontation with you because you are unbelievably arrogant and for some reason think you're Chris Wilder's best mate and confidant. When in reality just over a year ago you were calling him the second coming of Micky Adams and taking the piss out of him for being a bladey blade.

4. I still am none the fucking wiser to what on earth you sign off your posts with. It's like you just put a line as a really boring riddle that no one can be arsed to suss out.

There are much more succinct ways to express "I have a great deal to learn about football and life in general. I am unwilling to do so because I foolishly believe I know it all already."

You will, with your present attitude, remain 'none the fucking wiser'. That is a shame when wisdom is all around you.

You were all behind the appointment of Wilder of course?

You were all behind the appointment of Wilder of course?

Coming after the completely clueless Adkins, most of us would have taken Fred West, Pol Pot or Sep Blatter to be honest.

Wilder looked like an honest trier and I think most of us just hoped for survival last season, with maybe some faint flickers of progression.

If you'd mentioned champions and 100 points, you'd have been sent to the funny farm.

This time I might quote the right person

Silly me actually I didn't want rid of Adkins due to the fact I thought there was too much poison behind the scenes and we needed to give someone some time to sort it out. Then in came Wilder (which I was fully behind once Adkins was sacked btw) and did it all in one window... no holds barred.

Then it came out about Hammond etc. and I spoke to Freeman in pre season and it turns out Adkins was a proper full weight.

Give me Sepp over him any day.

Sorry was quoting Pinch, did in error
No worries. He thought he was Micky Adams II. Never forget. And the pearler about Fleck.

Because It's the reason a lot of people are getting excited about a manager who has done very little to be excited about.

But for his Bladey credentials (which, contrary to popular belief, don't get you a single point in the league) he wouldn't have got the job and people would be reacting very differently to the arrival of someone with a long record of very little...

So, it's a big welcome to Mickey Adams II.

How about another 6 inches in height and a few goals? The idea that we can't ask for anything better than Cov's best player is a novel one.
I'm afraid I do ask for more than 5' 6", a left foot and a career average of one goal a season.

Couldn't ask for more? Silly Flecker.

I'm not having Pinchy take credit for that. I'm fairly sure I was the first poster to use the term 'Micky Adams 2' long before CW joined us, when he was being suggested as a possible Blades manager (during the Clough era I think), on BM. I haven't posted on there for several years now. So I'm claiming that term. And I was wrong. Very wrong. The last time I was that wrong was when I said Micky Adams was the man to sort us out.

We all get things wrong, look at me with Basham. Admittedly he had to change positions but I was very harsh about his ability at centre mid, and now he's our first choice RCB and well deserved he's been outstanding. And there you go you've admitted you were wrong about Wilder.

Pinchy is incapable of admitting he's wrong. He keeps trying to make out like Wilder is his best mate and they're on the same level despite the fact he brushes under the carpet his little embarrassing outbursts when he was appointed. All the while keeping up this charade that's never wrong.
I don't know whether I prefer that one or the Fleck one. Both are fantastic in equal measure, but we'll never hear him admit he's wrong.

I wasn't wrong much last season after Wilder was appointed to be honest. Mainly only about Basham. I said Wilder would come good during the bad run, praised JOC to high heaven and kept faith in Clarke/Sharp. It was the season before that went bad for me, I thought Adkins was going to do a Southampton with us...

We all thought Adkins would be a good manager for us tbf.

After reading all of this back and forth I can feel all of my cells slowly dying. Is that normal?

Between all the hot air and self-adulation, you managed one sentence about football, so well done:

He's never told me but I knew he didn't rate Adams; was more than happy to offload DCL; would replace Done; doesn't see Wright as a starter; same will go for Basham if we get the second CB.
.

I'm not disagreeing that these two may not be first team regulars, I acknowledged that in my post. My issue is with this:

Let him go and get first team football in a league where he will impress,

reached his level and we now need to move on.

I find it ironic that in your reply you took a swipe at those "who haven't started shaving yet", when your apparent transfer policy is so remarkably similar to child playing a video game.

It's strange because most of your posts make a lot of sense, but your desire to be the outspoken forum contrarian seems to trip you up sometimes.

He's not going to feature much, especially if we recruit another centre-back. Let him go and get first team football in a league where he will impress, with our gratitude for an amazing season last year, but a realisation that he's reached his level and we now need to move on.

Loyal; not sentimental.

But always, always, self-opinionated :(

Back to Jake Wright snr..We've got to keep him surely. We should always be looking for upgrades in every position. If Stearman can organise/calm the defence in the way that Wright did last season, and contribute more individually than him, then great, he's the upgrade..I'd still like Jake Wright in the squad as things stand. It's not about sentiment. It just makes sense (to me!).. UTB

One of the success stories off last year, hardly put a foot wrong, he deserves his chance, I don't get why he needs bombing out, I'd actually start with him Stearman and Jack.
