There will be other days like that in future though. That's football.

The trick is to appreciate what you've got. And right now we've got a lot.

I'd also add that the real trick is for the club to employ a football manager who clearly knows what he's doing - then the bad days are just that and don't turn into bad months and bad seasons.

Unfortunately, in the past we have too many of the 'fukwit' types. Thankfully we now have a damned good one in charge. Let's not lose him.

"Let's not lose him" ?

Over what exactly?

Post 177. Standard Fayre for Za recently but seemingly giving up hope because we haven't signed a keeper before the full extent of the injury is known - and therefore no decision have been made over a permanent or loan deal for a replacement - suggests his G string is firmly up his crack at least.

Clap clap clap.

Well without reading through every post and analysing all of em in great detail, I suppose there may be one or two who have jumped the gun on shouting 'crisis' imo.

On the whole though...it seems to me that there are a lot of people on here who like to over exaggerate, try to act the voice of all calm and reason, and are quick to be critical of others who actually bother to post a view on here about the football club and it's actions / non actions. Most of the time it's just people posting what they think...and not getting into a tizz about it at all.

You now have people putting on a rumour that they have heard...and others telling them that they are being mischievous or causing disharmony in the fan ranks. Ffs it's a football forum, people can choose to believe it or not. It's really not important in the general scheme of things.

If people want to get a bit worked up about a rumour then I think let em. It's their perogative. I know what I think and that's good enough for me.

Leg injured= yes
Anything any of us can do= No

End of discussion.

Looking forward to an Eastwood/Brooks masterclass tomorrow night though, can't wait to get back into BDTBL!!!

Think the last time we played Stoke at home we lost 3-0. Was like Land of the Giants . Do pre- season friendly matches mean owt especially when we seem to be picking up a load of knocks leaving us a bit light on bodies .

Wonder if Ched will be given a run or still sorting fitness , niggles out . Be good seeing the bloke back .

I know of no specifics that would want him to walk right now if that's where your coming from.

Mine was a general throwaway comment. OK with you?

Exactly. People do get worked up about very little at times. And depending on any agenda they may have, criticise or defend the club. Based on very little, but given a chance......

I knew it was. Just wondered why you would say it.

Well, no, if I'm honest it's the usual "this board Pah" exercise.

It wants throwing away, we agree on that at least.

Anything you wish to post is okay with me. That's your prerogative. I've disagreed and that's mine. I asked a question of you, that's all.

Medial ligament damage suspected but NOT yet confirmed. If so looking at up to 6 months.
Wilder not happy about how transfers are dragging. Suggestions of penny pinching.
Good source on this.

I believe your source to be incorrect in this matter.

Why thank you for sanctioning me to continue to post my views. Very much appreciated.

I will look forward to reading some of your own posts and views which you have initiated, rather than just piggy backing off the back of other posts. You do seem to do a lot of that.

Isnt that a contradiction then? You knew it was....but then just wondered why i would say it...

Why ask the question if 'you knew it was'?

Maybe your just looking for a argument on the Blades forum for a change. You also seem to like those. However not tonight lover, I'm not that interested in what you have to say.

Re medial ligament damage or Wilder being unhappy? cuz one thing's for sure if I was Wilder and had been promised championship investment and seen us bank an unexpected additional 6m I'd be well pissed off at our transfer activity so far!

I Didnt sanction or even attempt to sanction anything. Read my posts or don't. Doesn't matter to me. I'm sure we all repeat ourselves though. As for "piggy backing" how on Earth do you enter a debate if you can't reply to a specific post? Didn't you piggy back on Grays post or is it just a one way thing? You knock the club a lot, it's clear what your"losing him " comment was about, subtle , ahem, as it was. I just think you don't like an alternate view that's on the money. Otherwise you wouldn't have got snotty with your replies.
Sarcasm isn't new you know.

Has anyone actually seen him say he's unhappy? All his interviews so far seem very positive and he's looking forward to the new season.

You need to grow up some. I made a point, asked a question and your period started. Sorry about that.

Regardless of how serious the injury is (and let's hope it is only a matter of weeks), Moore's injury highlights the need for us to sign another keeper who can start if called-upon. The fact we can use an emergency loan is by the by. I'd rather not be desperation-signing a keeper on 2 September if Moore was to break his leg.

And whilst I'd rather sign someone like Ripley who would compete for the top spot, I'd accept an experienced cover keeper who can do a decent job filling in.

As for issues with signing players, Chris has made a couple of comments about the money-men of late. Let's hope it's just natural frustration and not something more. The fact we (allegedly) seem to be haggling over £100k for Leonard doesn't fill me with the greatest confidence though.

But Isnt it a case of waiting for medical news before juggling the budget? It appears wexarent pushing the boat out in monetary terms to anywhere near what we (reasonably) expected. At the moment anyway. It's not just fees, it's wages or loan fees.isnt it better to get an expectation of the length of time Moore may be out rather than diving immediately into the transfer market and probably hindering Wilders current transfer plans?

Forget about the midfield / Striker / winger signing now and forget about a top ten finish.

A decent first choice keeper needs the cash splashing on, it's the most important position on the field, we can't afford to get it wrong, we did with Simmo and it cost us our place in The Championship last time.

Snatch your hand off if you offered me a 21st place finish now.

All that from one unsubstantiated rumour? Let's see what actually happens before taking to the lifeboats... A couple of weeks ago the club was said to be in chaos and the captain leading a dressing-room rebellion.

If it is £100k for arguments sake then just get it spent united, it could be the difference between championship survival or not.

Not a tad melodramatic at all.

Unlike the "no idea if this is true but I'm going to proceed as though it is" approach. Exactly as it was when some clown said Billy Sharp was about to take his shoes off in the Shirecliffe Car Park.

Some people start with an "if" before effortlessly turning it into an 'is' then launching immediately into a fierce, though completely ignorant, attack on the club they claim to support. It happens every time and it's the same old faces...

It could have been George, Zippy, and Bungle who were the managers of sufc that day....I was too angry to concern myself with trifling details like which cretin was in charge for that total non show! Whoever it was wanted sacking on the spot when the ref blew time. What a shambles we were that day.

Think we've had George, Bungle and Zippy in charge at various stages over the years.

We needed decent cover for Moore before the injury so I don't think anyone should unduly panic about this. If the injury makes him miss the start it's a tiny setback in an important position. We're going to get injuries at times, it's the nature of professional sport.

Wilder and Knill will sort it. We'll get someone in to back Moore up. Maybe he will be even better.....although that would take some doing. Moore was excellent all of last season. Very underrated goalkeeper.

Time frame dependent it could now be first choice at the start rather than find your way around back up.

I dont really see where people are 'getting their knickers in a twist'. I do however see people discussing things about Sheffield United on a Sheffield United forum.

End of the day, Utd do or don't. I think most people are bright enough to realise that what they say on a football forum counts for just short of diddily squat.

Why don't you put a post on one of thr threads about the subject in question rather than just commenting about how you perceive other posters mental state to be. The other posters have bothered to put on their views about a topic relating to the football club. If you agree with a post, say so. If you don't, say why you don't.

I know the last time I got my 'knickers in a twist' over anything SUFC was when I was coming out of Crewe away under the reign of Clough. Now that was an annoying day.

It's as legitimate to point out that someone is hugely overreacting as it is for that person to claim the right to hugely overreact.

There is a spectrum of reasonableness. If a contributor strays beyond that, as quite a few do on a regular basis, usually to derogate our own club, others are entitled to, and will, say so.
