Footballers should be able to play on any surface.

Uh? Why? Surely a better playing surface makes it far easier for good players to play the game we all want them to play it.

Ask any player who's been forced to play on a pitch where grass is alien, or at least in short supply, and they'd jump at the chance to play on a surface like ours. It works both ways in that opposing teams who happen to have good players will also respond to our pitch, but better that than an antiquated notion that 'footballers can play on any surface'. Might be worth directing your opinion towards our manager and see what his opinion is, that would prove interesting.
