This could be the deciding factor in what level of recruitment is done now. Expect a few deals may happen quickly now

Or agents clock we've just been handed a stack and try haggle for more dough.

If we don't spend it in the next week, I hope we keep calm and don't start slagging the club off. A cash injection doesn't change our methods or strategy, and rightly so.

Maybe so, but then again everyone sells and buys so same could be said for many teams. I wouldn't be surprised if there we are sitting on a few key signings in certain areas, which one of the targets we choose is dependent on whether or not the Walker money came in, I imagine there will have been a deadline too as to not leave everyone hanging.

I very much doubt we'll be told the actual amount anyway, unless Spurs leak it. We do love an undisclosed fee these days.

There may be an inkling in the 2018 accounts although I suspect it will be included in the profit/loss on player sales heading.

Whatever, someone on here would have been able to strike a much better deal for us :)

Whether it's worth 2 mill or 5 mill, who will be the first to say it's already been spent :)

It will have been spent already on our signings from League 2

Can I be first or was it you in a roundabout way

where is the 5m figure from??? be closer to 4m i would think, still not a bad little sum, lets hope sir chris gets at least half of it, with his nous we will pick up 3 good players for 2m
By the time we've paid three years wages, signing on fees, loyalty bonuses and agents fees they'll have to be free transfers though.

Wont affect Wilders spending policy tho will it,no high wages or fee's for any ****er,thats still in place whether there is an extra 5m or 10m suddenly floating around at SUFC.

So it will be straight in McCabes back pocket.

Will this disappear into that mysterious black hole called 'running the club' where the Tevez money went?

Not that I would have wanted to go back in after Robinson tried to mess us around but it turns out we probably could have met their daft valuation for Holmes now.

Hopefully they are left with a disgruntled player AND fuck all money!!

You mean it will save Mr McCabe from having to dip into his back pocket so often?

Ah but that means we can speculate wildly without anyone being able to disprove anything!

£50M!! Football is out of control. The sooner a big team goes into administration the better. Might bring the game back into the real world.

It won't make any difference, even if they went into administration they would just end up stronger

The most pathetic sale in the history of football. Didn't even need to do it, having just sold Naughton, but seeing as we had more important things to do at the time, like build an hotel, we made Levy a buy one get the other for fuck all, when any Blade with eye sight, and David blunkett and his dog knew that Walker was 10x the player that naughton was. Now spurs pockets are bulging, and we get a few crumbs! Thank fuck for CW. At least that shit won't happen under his watch.

Can't agree more on the KW sale. To me that was more baffling than any managerial appointments. As someone who saw his every appearance for us I'd never been so certain that a United youngster would go on to much greater things. The fee we apoarently received was a joke.

The profit of our transfer of Naughton was written off because Levy wrote up his fee so he didnt have to pay us anything as they made no profit.

That means he can't get out of this. Surely. And it's worked out better for us.

He can mitigate his cost though by playing tunes on the original fee which is why he'll throw as many costs into the original fee as he can. I'm not convinced agents fees can form a part of the fee as they are payment directly from the club to the agent.

The only saving grace is that if we'd been paid £6m or £7m back then it would have been squandered by now with nothing to show for it. At least if the recent proceeds, or even some of it, ends up in Wilder's hands then there's a fighting chance something might come to fruition.

Yeah you're probably right. All football debts get paid in full, whilst the rest get 1p to the £. How does football get away with that?
