It's the slippery slope. When we're in this division for 5 years as they have been, would you bet against ticket prices hitting the £40 mark? I certainly wouldn't.

I wouldn't bet loads against it. but I'd be tempted to put a quid or two down.

McCabe has his weaknesses but he does know the club, and he knows for a fact if he takes the piss with prices, we simply won't pay it. We're not like our porcine neighbours who seem happy to stump up silly amounts to have their ego's stroked by the 'massive' lie. I don't care how good the football is; if prices reach those kinds of levels I won't be going. I wouldn't be able to afford it.

The UK inflation rate for May 2017 was 2.9%. Applying this compound for 5 years gives......... £ 41.53.

That would clearly be a 'massive rip off' by McCabe.

If the prices hit those levels I'd certainly go to less games (unless the season tickets are still the good deal they are now). But judging by the way demand soared at the end of last season I reckon if the football is good and we're doing well there's enough that would be willing to pay it and take our places.

A £4 increase over the next 5 years for A* matches wouldn't seem overly excessive to me. If we were charging £40 you can bet the pigs and others with similar delusion will be charging £50-60 for these matches.

Prior to that prices were frozen for several seasons.

We have made a loss for the last 8 years and on other transfer threads people are urging we bid more for Leonnard/Holmes etc and accuse McCabe of being tight.

Oh well, I suppose it is back to the magic money tree to make up the difference again.

I think they're pretty fair. I get where you're coming from, and change does need to be forced, but if you look across the landscape of this division I don't think you can really knock the club for their efforts here.

Yeah I'm the same. The season ticket offer was too good for me to not take this time around, but if they went up to silly prices or the matchday prices did, I'd be making the 60 mile trek to S2 a lot less especially as I have travel costs on top.

They're not really set up to 'make a profit' as the money will be simply shuffled elsewhere if they do... look at Manure, they post a £3.8 million loss (Jan-March) whilst revenue continues to rise.

Fuck me, calm down everyone, United have no track record of ripping off their fans. It's what sets us apart. Me, I paid next to fuck all for a senior's ST, even comparable with these much vaunted European prices people are so fond of quoting. The moaners on here should be delighted to stump up an extra few quid on match day tickets to subsidise us oldies and keep us going anyway.
