What a phenomenal effort to sell nearly 20 000 season tickets!!. Just makes me think that although we'll get bigger away allocations, it could prove a challenge to get hold of away tickets if we're doing well!. I M O

I'm reckon 90percent of away games next season,we'll sell out our allocation.
As fans,it was a carnival atmosphere for a good majority of the season, thus rubbed off on the players.
I've never known a club like ours last season where the players and management interaction with supporter's and had great togetherness.
Long may it continue.

If management want to keep prices fair for our walk up fans I wonder if we'll see some of those tickets we've had in the past for groups of 3 or 4 matches but only charge the fans for 2 or 3. Can load it up a bit then and keeps infiltrating away fans at bay. Might need this for the porkies, weeds etc although I have my doubts if any tickets will make it to general sale for some matches as members with thousands of points will snap them all up.

Up to a point it will especially with some smallish allocations but tbh mate unless we do much better than expected the much increased prices will also take effect after a while. Already spoken to a few go everywhere Blades who have said they won't be going to some places due to cost, whether on principal or affordability.

Do you mean the PVC Banner being draped over the leppings lane stand.
I also believe the Dulux 5 have had a reunion painting the turnstile doors.

We complain about the pillars blocking the view. They complain about the ackrow props.

Pigs averaged over 27k last season. I don't think we'll average that

Do you think they will? They sold a record number of season tickets last year on the back of their first appearance at the new Wembley. Looks like a couple of thousand are heading back to Meadowhall.
We averaged almost 22k last season and, if these figures are correct, season ticket sales will be about 50% up. Add on bigger away followings and some Tufty magic and who knows.

I totally agree must be the most deserving fans in the country idont include myself these days because I don't go to all the matches but I did home and away when I was younger so well done blades fans enjoy next season utb

Me too
I wouldn't say I was as keen a fan nowadays

But I used to be home and away every single week, pre season friendlies, Anglo Scottish Cup, Zenith Data Systems Cup

You name it I was there

But something just clicked in me a few years ago,
It was a " This is as good as it's ever going to get " moment and I just stopped being so keen, and it wasn't that difficult for me.

Some time after I moved away from Sheffield because of work, I was gone for seven years and United barely crossed my mind because they didnt deserve to be

I will never be as keen a fan as I once was unless the club do something to win me back.

Genuine question. What type of thing would you like to see the club do to win you back?

The things that will stop United averaging 27000 + next year is plod and Sky TV

Wendy, Derby, Forest, Barnsley, Sunderland, Villa, Leeds, all have the capability of being 30,000 attendances if plod and Sky keep their noses out

Norwich, Ipswich, Middlesboro, Birmingham, Hull could also be 30,000 depending on the importance of the game to them or us

The rest at least 25000

Can't see why 27000 + won't be achieved

We have suffered when measured against similar sized clubs because of a chronically small time attitude at boardroom level

A forward thinking boardroom with the guts to back their manager over the last 40 years and our recent past could have been very different

Everything is in place for United, decent stadium, excellent support, a good and well respected club who most outsiders still see as a big club, certainly potentially.

The only people that never see it are the ones who are always sat upstairs

Get a good boardroom and United will take off and maybe then I will rediscover the same enthusiasm

Never been a Blade then! The sort of "supporter" we can do without.

You don't class last season as enough?

Our board have backed there manager, its the manager who wasn't good enough, been hearing this about the board for donkeys years, the old favourite was " these directors should get there hand in there pockets" classic.

Pigs averaged over 27k last season. I don't think we'll average that

Our trajectory is upwards. They've shit their pot full and are on the way back down. Even if we don't finish above them we'll be going in different directions. Additionally, If we've sold 20k ST's and if we get an away contingent of 2.5k, which will be similar to them, then it all depends on walk ups. The pricing of match day tickets in our favour will swing the overall total our way. The fuckers will need counselling if we get bigger crowds than them, their lives depend upon it.

I'm not sure Wendy will next season

Some already saying that one or two of theirs haven't renewed due to the brand of footy last season

If they don't excel next season, I don't see that average being achieved, especially at those matchday prices and with the sky high cost of their away ticket allocation prices

As for us, unless we have a stormer, I don't think we will either, but we live in hope

The irony is that it was the 'too much ambition" that has cost us in recent years.

When we were debated from the PL many thought we'd down size and consolidate but we entered our most ambitious era the club has ever known. We were determined to be promoted back to the PL no matter what the cost was.

So we appointed at great expense, the dream team of Robson and Kidd who both had great cv of gaining promotion from the CC and doing what Warnock couldn't do by keeping a team in the PL.
McCabe was thinking BIG and wanted us to be a household name throughout the world.
Robson was a big name player able to attract the top players. Kidd was one of the most highly rated assistant managers in world football. We changed our style to a slow keep possession passing game and it was a culture shock compared to fast direct Warnock style.

The other big idea which backfired was the world domination theme of buying a club in China and Hungary and having very close links with a club in Belgium, Australia and even an attempted link in Brazil. Good ideas in theory.

The other irony is that last season is the smallest budget in years instead of throwing money at appointing the best managers for league 1 and backing the manager each time. We didn't back the manager as much as previous seasons but still won the league at a canter.

Due to recent experiences no wonder McCabe is cautious about stetching finances and showing too much ambition.

McCabe's lack of ambition is clear for all to see. However, it's also fair to say that whilst a very rich man, he doesn't have the wealth of most other owners in the Championship and Premier League. The best thing would be for him to put all his efforts into finding a buyer who can take us forward. It's not as if he even seems to enjoy the role - as he always sounds fed up and aggressive when interviewed.

The pigs sell more season tickets due to the expensive match day tickets. We won't sell as many season tickets but we'll have more buying match tickets.
I think we've sold more season tickets than them, haven't we?

Robson's CV wasn't good. He spent £17m in the season of Boro's promotion. That was something like 20 years ago, and those sums weren't even dreamt of then.

His CV wasn't nearly a patch on Warnock's.

If the rumoured numbers are in the right ball park we're about 1800 ahead.

Not that I could give a monkeys.

No points for bums on seats, whether they're actually there or not.
