Season tickets?

The stewards inside the ground barely look at which light comes on when you insert your season ticket or match ticket. Outside however I've had my ticket checked on many occasions.

I always wondered who decides which category a club falls into
The manager .the board .the ticket office manager. Are Reading cat A next season as they came closest to going up. Or are forest and villa cat A as both have won european cups

Cat A is where the club predict the most demand for tickets.

So it's never going to be Reading no matter what they do.

Approximately 17k season tickets, so anywhere between 16.5k and 17.5k, that's a great effort.

With the increased away followings, if we can hit the ground running then there's no reason whey we can't get 22k-25k on a regular basis.

We were averaging more than that 2nd half of last season with hardly any away fans.

I reckon if we have a poor season then expect 22K to 25K. If we're in the top half then surely gates will rise to a minimum 25K to 26K.

Kevin Gage has said today that we have sold almost 20,000 season tickets.

And the middle of the south stand?

Someone should explain what the colours mean.

Grey means no seats available, so it's either not for sale or a total sell out in those spaces.

Red means limited availability, not many seats seats left.
Yellow means reasonable availability meaning we've sold quite a few but still a good amount left
Green means plenty of availability, not sold many with plenty left.

F1, 2 & 6 on the family are grey. I can understand 6. As that's normally closed cause it's next to the away end. 1 & 2 seem strange to be closed off tho.

Edit - ignore me, must be a total sell out :D

If Gagey is right, nearly 20k is fkin brillliant :)
Agreed.

A top effort, although last season was a joy to watch our fans have had nothing to cheer about for a very long time and the fact that they've stood by the club through all these years is testament to all Blades fans.

A top effort.

according to my mole , or sister in law who works in the ticket office just over 19800 have been sold but dont tell anyone
you aint seen me , right

That's great if true, with a few weeks until the start to sell more. Our rivals from South Barnsley have stopped selling theirs (WTF!!!) and apparently are a couple of thousand short of this despite their MASSIVE fanbase. They will resort to their nonsense that everybody buys child tickets at the Lane.

If what you're saying is true, we will average higher gates than the Wendies do this season.

When I see a brilliant response like this re. season tickets sales, it makes me wonder as I often have (at the risk of sounding pig-like) the crowds we could get if we had REAL success?
In my half-century plus following the Blades, the closest that we have come to the big time was 71/72 when we went top at the start and averaged 34k that season

To get this response after 6 seasons down below is fantastic

This season will blow the massive myth into the water. All things are equal now, no excuses for them.

I totally agree must be the most deserving fans in the country idont include myself these days because I don't go to all the matches but I did home and away when I was younger so well done blades fans enjoy next season utb

The only thing that is equal is league status. We have a better ground, more passionate support, better management team, better owners, probably better players, and better value for money in wages.

Haven't those utter bankers also sold 20k?

Their argument being that they raise far more revenue than we do due to the higher cost of season tickets

I would argue that when spunking £10m on bottlers, ST revenue doesn't make any significant difference
