Forest 2 Blades 3 (Dearden, Currie and Scullion) in Sept 4th 1971. I was there. Top of the League. Forest players from the left are John Winfield, Jim Barron (assistant to Steve Thompson at BDTBL after Spackman resigned), Neil Martin, Doug Fraser and Peter Hindley)
Bert was also there, down the touchline with the rest of the Unitedites.

So was I and got a dart in my shoulder from the Forest fans. Seem to remember things go a bit tasty on the station after the match as well.

It was a battle all the way back to the station.

At times during the dark days,it seemed TK was playing the opposition on his own
Couldn't agree more TF , always gave 100% , not the tallest not the fastest , but how many bad games did you see him have , could take a pen too , did he miss one ? If so I can't remember ?

For some reason it always reeked of piss down there .... can't for the life of me think why ?

When we were students our Rag Week symbol was Sebastian Toots - a money spider.

One year we spent all one night putting a net (web) and big spider over t'ole in t'road. Just as we were finishing at dawn about 10 of South Yorkshire's "finest" law enforcers appeared ( apparently having just watched us for the whole time) and made us take it all down!

Humourless Bastards - nothing changes!

But at least:-

The Magic (from those days) is Back at The Lane.

When was that? Was he a mascot or a person? I have a vague memory of kidnapping a mascot - from Stevenson Hall I think.

One of my best mates and me had just left the Penthouse (UK Subs I think) and he had a piss on the slopey bit just down the escalators from Rackhams and the cops nabbed him ,it was the night before he had his final interview for the fire service. He begged them and they eventually let him go with a verbal warning ,he went on to become one of the top fire officers in South Yorks eventually before retiring a couple of years ago. He always was a lucky bleeder.
