Very harsh imo.

His game is to take on and beat players, just his touch was not quite there, he is a little isolated on the wide right position, in which he gave us plenty of width.

Once he scores or builds up his confidence he may start scoring for fun, he should have about 3/4 to his name already but just seems to have his head down.

Mainly through pessimistic people like yourself.

He consistently failed to beat his man, his crosses were to no one, or out of play, his first touch which is usually his best asset was awful today, he tries to run through men, which is not possible

Useless

Webber is not of the required standard for Sheffield United.

And on todays showing neither is Stokes

I also thought he was poor today, but what I did like was that his head never went down, he wanted the ball and he didn't hide when things weren't going for him. Attitude - spot on.

i just didnt see any thing great in his game today seemed to lose the ball more than any one else. his crossing was poor. his touch was poor. im sure he'd given up and was waiting to be subbed, i hope its just a bad game but he needs to improve fast along with a few outher players. i think united has too many out of form players at the moment, but just think how good we could be if they all switched on FFS wake up blades we should be top two easy with the quality we have. sun looked great at left back made us very attacking when he came on.

Ferk me, Nick, he's only been here a few weeks! Give the guy a chance! I don't think Danny did too badly today. He was looking to go forward, but once again it seems we have another one for the 'boo-boys' to pop at.

If someone serving a pie farted on Tuesday night in the first half, it was Cotterill's fault. The screaming after an, admittedly misplaced, pass by Webber today was shocking.

We're fifth in the table, despite not playing too well at times. I know you've been coming to the Lane for years and years, but you know as well as I do that we have to cut our cloth accordingly.

Danny was good enough before (and if a lot of the wannabes shut up) might be good enough again to get us up. He scored the goal away at Cardiff which as near as damn it sealed our last promotion. Hardly lost in the mists of time

I agre that there is still a bit of a hangover around the club, but this is nothing like a year ago. We're in and around where we thought we might be, so it can't be all bad.

I just wish that people (not necessarily including you, 'cos I can hear your voice very easily!) would cut out the instant moaning inside the ground.

Its starting to seem like that.

He probably should of got himself a goal today.

Personally I like Stokes, he looks to attack his man and has an eye for goal. I think with a few more games under his belt United fans will come to like him. I know I do and has for Webber, Silverfox had it spot on, he was ok but highly frustrating. Just needs a goal or two.

I've purposely quietened down this year, and see what happens before getting myself wound up about certian players.

The thing that strikes me regarding Webber and Stokes is that they are both very similar, both quick, skilful and both with an annoying habit of keeping hold of the ball too long, and both not the sharpest tool in front of goal.

Both players also looked like spending too much time going wide leaving Beattie on his own up front and it looked like the only way Beattie would get a chance was if he created something himself.

Up until the last few weeks i have always been a Danny Webber fan, but he has not done it now for far too long and we should have let uncle Colin have him for £500k in the summer.

Didn't Webber pull the ball back for Ugo to score?

Webber was not shit. People just like to have a go at him.

some of his passing was awful and his control. just needs more practice in training on how to cross, shoot on target and how to beat a man once, not take him on come back take him on again then bring the players mother on the field, take her on too and put a crap cross over.

I agree with all of that. It seems some United fans have to pick on one player as a scape goat.

At least webber tries, he beat plenty of defenders yesterday and apparently did the same Tuesday night. Then he makes one mistake and people are booing him. Its disgraceful, we were 1-0 up too, yes he can be frustrating but I'm sure he is more frustrating to any defenders he plays up against than he is to us, maybe if people got behind him more it would help build is confidence back. :shakehead:

Didn't think he was as bad as that.

P.S Fantastic Display Picture:D

Webber was itching to come inside and play through the middle but on numerous
occassions i spotted Blackwell shouting for him to stay wide and give us width.

that 433 formation is ify anyway!

there was a few times we seemed to lose width. it rarely looked like 4.3.3 more like 4.5.1 and some times bt had to come so deep to look for the ball it looked like 4.6.0

it could work but needs some training i thought a few players got a little out of position on a few occasions or wasent comfortabl in those positions.

we could play 5.3.2 like when spacman was hear and play a more attacking central midfield just a thought. we'd really need a new center back though

I'll agree, he wasn't at his best today, but he's been asked to do a job thats not his natural bread and butter. We're trying to make square pegs fit in round holes IMO. Webber is a greedy player, which in his current position is a weakness, but as a striker it can prove to be a vital strength. Lets not forget this is the player that 3 seasons ago scored alot of goals, which took us up. He has still got that ability, he just needs the rub of the green abit, as do United as a whole....

Gotta totally agree with that.

I agree to a certain extent, but he hasnt been looking good playing up front in a 4-3-3.

He isn't a winger as you say, but he should still be able to beat a man and put a cross in. 3 seasons ago is different from now, players pass their best etc.

When he usually has had a go up front, he's lost it a fair few times trying to take on too many, or tried to put a pass through and its gone no where close. That and his shooting has been way off.

Maybe a goal will boost him?

He pulled the ball back for Ugo to score:D That's enough for me. :p

He's been a better winger so far than what Cotteril has.

webber gets round his man occasionally and offers something by moving into space. cotterill doesn't

Did he pull it back? i thoug he had shot and keeper saved it

Wierd view from kop though hard to see other end properly

I would say swap Webber and Stokes around.

Stokes only has a right foot, so get him going to the byline and getting crosses in.

Webber can use his left, well more so than Stokes, but is also very dangerous at cutting inside getting on his right foot and creating a chance for himself. He looks too isolated on the right, beats his man by cutting in and then he is on his weaker foot, so he tries to beat another to get on his right and ultimately loses possession.

Swith 'em round Blackwell!

Webber pulled back for Ugo who hit it agains't there defender but then hit the re-bound in.
