What would we take minimum, 1 million?

Try about 20% of that.

And about 10% of what we paid.

Good business.

It helps a lot that our potential list of buyers probably starts and ends with Burton. Because that's the only place he'll want to go.

I'd be suprised if we get anything, by putting him on the list I suppose it gets advertised, and we will wait and see but I supect Wilder will have already thought lets see what happens if nobody shows any interest he will end up at Burton, hopefully Brayford will agree to terminate his contract at this point and start there afresh and we get him off the books

Or bad business. Which is exactly the reason I expect him to be around come the start of the season. It's the same situation as with Coutts and Freeman last season and that didn't turn out too badly did it?

Unless I've missed him couldn't see him on the pre season photos from today and even Hussey and Wilson were on them. Interesting how Baldock was wearing #2 on his training kit also players seemed to be using last season squad numbers

Told you months ago fellas, Brayford isn't coming back to stay. Admittedly he's back training now, but Wilder has made him available for transfer. And the articles in today's papers suggest that he'll be reuniting with his man love at Burton. The only thing that can change that, or delay it slightly, is if Cloughy is on his way to another club from Burton. Which is entirely possible of course, but it will need to be one in the East Midlands area as Clough's don't travel too well as we know.

He's back but if cloughy thinks he we get him on a free!he we have to think again.
I think the blades will dig there eels in on this one with coughs history at the blades.
Obviously won't be much but a fee never the less.I think cloughy will be desperate to have him back ,a fee is appropriate surely.

I'll flip that theory. If you were Clough and knew the player would only agree to move to Burton why would you offer a fee, rather than just wait it out until the club just wanted him off the wage bill?

Do we want him back?
Will he come back?
Or does it depend on if Burton stay up?

Personally I feel he doesn't want to come back but would come back if burton went down. Isnt he playing right centre back in a three for them! Id happily have him back if he was anywhere near his best but not at the expense of freeman!

Sell for me, not interested in the club last season so why bother!

Cash-in and move on, freeman deserves his chance and baldock is good enough

I met Jon Brayford almost 2 years ago while he was out injured, and he was a bit of a hipster . A bit of a wet nelly as My old man would say. I asked about him returning to playing and he seemed not bothered and said he was most likely to get injured again easily. Not sure what he meant at the time, but he either knew his injury left him vulnerable to recurrence or he wasn't bothered about the blades. Spoke to an ex player who still does matchday stuff in hospitality and he said there was no place for him in the team given what he offers. So that's it really, his time has gone, we move on. We may or may not get anything back for him, but want him off the payroll.

It is sad how it ended up for him at the Blades, when he first joined on loan from Cardiff, I thought we had signed a premiership class full back, but after he resigned he came in to a side missing Harry Maguire at the back, and playing negative football, and then came his injury which kept him out of the side for 7 months, after which he came back in under a different manager, struggled to find form, and when Wilder came in it was obvious from the start that he didn't fancy him and off he went to Burton.

I'd love to see a fully fit and in form Brayford still playing for the Blades, but it looks like that ship has sailed, and we need him off the books as this is a football club, not a charity

It looks like we were heavily subsidising his wages then.
And we've made him available for transfer so doesn't that mean we effectively have to pay him up? Any fee we get will do well to get anywhere near meeting that obligation.

There's no money coming in from this, just the removal of a player. I'm not even sure how much wage it will free up due to compromise we'd have to broker to let him leave. A lot of which will depend on what JB will accept.

He'll always be favourably remembered by me due to the cup run. However, he easily cost us the most from that team with little input thereafter

We will use him if he doesn't go! We wont be paying him off or subsidising him to anyone else but we all know nigel will be back for him but probably not till 10.55 on the 1st. It actually helps clough to stifle brayford and our transfer dealings because they are direct competition this year.

Clough will bide his time knowing Brayfoed will only go back to him.
I envisage a free transfer. Under undisclosed.
