Brayford

He didn't, he went very reluctantly after Wilder asked him.
If true then fair enough.

The obvious perception, and his history points towards him wanting to go back to Clough. After all, the only reason we got him in the first place was because of Clough.

If he comes back he'll have my full support.

I would love a fully firing brayford back at the lane but as I've posted before I overheard McNulty (I can name him now he's gone) and another player saying wilder wants him off the wage bill.

.

I don't want him back because I think he'll be poor value for money. But I know him leaving wasn't a case of him abandoning us.

Get Brayford back as RCD . Jobs a good un . He's like a new signing for us . The season he's just had at Burton will prove indispensable for us .

Cheers TA.

I'd ask if you've ever met anyone who was saved (pretty much) from a very trouble childhood and a life without any hope and adopted by Brian Clough and his family before going to live with them, in the process having his whole life opportunities/chances/direction totally changed.

I think that deserves a bit of loyalty pal, these days the only way I can show it is through football.
I think I've taken the piss previously, without knowing the background. Sincere apologies. And what a great story.

I always thought Brian Clough was an absolute legend, and these stories only confirm it. :)

Thanks Alco but there's no need to apologise, without knowing why I posted the way I post, even I would think I was strange :-)

The worst part of the stick? With the upbringing and footballing education I got from BC (and especially Nigel and Simon) I think I know my stuff at least a little bit.. I can stand the abuse but I hate having my football opinions totally dismissed as rubbish just because of my "defence" of NC's record. Ah well, such is life.

As to what to do with Brayford - I really hope CW & AK have asked him if he wants to be part of the Blades revival - or be part of a Burton team that will probably run relegation very very close next season - just like this. Burton will be sussed next season - do they have the finances to actually bring in a few quality players.

Brayford is either sold - and Burton probably couldn't afford to buy including some sort of guarantee on a three year contract or he comes back. He has played (well apparently) for most of the season in a division where we NEED experience.

Isn't this a no brainer.

What I wouldn't mind seeing happen is a straight swap. Brayford for MacFadzean

Even though he's been superb for Burton this season, there were occasions mid season where Kyle was a bit of a liability, not performance wise but in terms of a lack of discipline and even a bit of class.

I'd love to see NC go in for Buxton at Wigan, keep hold of Turner and Brayford and let big Kyle come and play for his home town club. He'd be superb for you, he could still develop into a real leader and his overall defending this season has been spot on.

I wonder if that might be some kind of brilliant win win situation for all parties.

Yeh that's a good call mate

Somebody on Burton's forum is claiming he won't be playing for anyone until Christmas as he needs a knee operation.

Agreed. But it's only one poster who is saying that so could be nothing.

I've seen it suggested on here at least once or twice as well though, that he has to have an operation therefore we won't be selling him.

It would just be great wouldn't it - runs himself into the ground for Daddy Nigel and aggravates his injury, comes back to us, his employer, nice and fucked needing an operation, gets paid even more money for nothing and restricts our transfer budget yet again.

But as I've said, we'd only have ourselves to blame for being stupid enough to sign him in the first place.

Second paragraph has always summed him up. I'd be disappointed if we went down that route personally.

Ricky why would it restrict our transfer budget? The Prince said he would invest properly in the Championship and we look like pocketing at least £3m that can't have been budgeted for in add-ons for Harry and Kyle.

Surely you aren't suggesting paying Bradford for a year throws all this off track ?

Well it's not going to help us is it? It's money we could put to much better use on someone else's wages.

And personally I'm not banking on any substantial investment from the Prince.

I like John....good luck to him if he's injured and hope for a speedy recovery. 10 grand a week....pffff, we are La Liga now!

Remember you from BM days, how did the book go?

I heard he damaged his knee while he was busy giving Clough a blow job.

What? Nooooo, I thought Wilder had plans to build his team around him.......
