Which Wednesday players do we plunder?

He was the summariser of 5live last night. While his reading of the game was okay he chucked in real trade secrets like, "We have a saying that he is on fire".

They mentioned the Director of Football link at Uddersfield and he said he was "too young". Time left for one more 'big push' with the pigs then?

Back in the mid 80s McClaren turned down the chance to join Utd. This tells me that he has been a first rate fukwit for at least 30 plus years.

lots of free transfers up for grabs after tonight's latest horror show....who would you take?

In the past we have been there , done it , got the tee shirt . They look like a bunch of players who could be fighting relegation next season . Welcome to the growing club of basket case championship football clubs with over paid players on long contracts , no infinity to the club or supporters . And that foresteri bloke refused to play earlier in the season . Blown it big time . Forget Premiership , league 1 beckons with foreign owners .

I'd take George Hirst. Just because it'll annoy them lots.

Plus it'd be interesting to see which Hirst would come First from the reserve team :)

Plunder that team of utterly charmless twats ? I don't think so. Wallace apart, it's impossible to warm to any of em.

"What do we want ?
McClaren or Pardew.
When do we want it ?
Now ! (tho it'd be funnier if they left it until July when everyone else is miles ahead and it's too late to sort the squad out, the useless twats").

Please let them steal David Moyes - that would be absolutely awesome :p

He was the best player over both games. He's a Manchester City player (although at 26yrs already, I doubt he'll ever play for them).

Though Mooy was quite similar to Coutts, dictating play and drifting into pockets of space.

Couldn't understand why the Pigs let him have the run of the park. They seemed happy to sit back rather than try and harry them off the ball, which I thought was weird given that Hudders didn't really have much upfront.

I'd have Ross Wallace, he's short and fat so would link up well with our billy.

Ignoring the fact that they play for the Pigs there are a few players who have something about them.

Westwood is a very good keeper. Bannan tries to pull the strings and has the pace that our midfield lacks, pity for him though he is largely surrounded by shit, you could see him getting frustrated with the lack of options around him last night. I also like Adam Reach, deceptively pacey and creates space...hopefully for us Thomas will turn out to be similar.

As was said above, a team of good individuals who don't play collectively well.

That Adam Reach looks a player.......

Would he cost much?

Sheffield Wednesday are probably Steve Gibsons favourite second team these days.

Hey Chansiri, we've got this reserve player..... he's not going to get a game for us. Is £10 million OK.... that's great. We will give you a shout again in the next transfer window when we'll have more bargains.

Oh please please please let the grinning fool that is Schtevie McClaren get the position of new Boss Hog. It would make my decade and be their 'Robson' moment. I'm touching my aroused bits just thinking about it.

:D

Westwood and Bannan stood out like a sore thumb for Wednesday. Other than that, I thought they were very average. Mooy for Huddersfield looks very accomplished, and surely destined for greater things.

I actually really like Sam Hutchison as a player - I'd take him in a heartbeat. Big, committed, strong and dirty - plus he can play a bit. He'd be ideal to stick in the middle alongside Coutts and Fleck for when the going is tough. Plus he's fairly handy at the back which is always a bonus.

Made me feel a bit sick writing that down on here.

I'd take the goalie.

I'd have Bannon, but not right now as we have Fleck.

Fletcher would do us a job up top.

Hooper would be nice.

That's about it. Rest bang average or only turn up when they want (Nando).

Must admit I quite like Hutchinson as well and was surprised when he missed his penalty as thought he would try and break the back of the net with it, not the feeble effort we saw.

That being said he gets booked nearly every game and spends half the season suspended.

I would also hazard a guess that the majority of their 1st team are probably on more than our highest paid player so it's a no from me to any of them.

There was something in the air last night, your pen was shite, Fernando.

Fuck 'em all.

UTB!

THAT line, my dear chap is poetry .........:p:D

A great song for when we play the arrogant, deluded pig bas**rds next season .....

"There was something in the air last night, your pen was shite, Fernando" ....... if he hasn't deserted them of course :D:D;)

None!

We've had our share of bottlers in the past but we don't do bottlers now. Let's not infect and then affect our team spirit with any of those spineless fecking journeymen. For some reason the Pork think it's all about money now they've got a bit, and have totally forgotten what a good manager and togetherness can achieve, hence why Huddersfield with a budget the level of Rotherham have rubbed their snouts in it, and even Reading are hardly big spenders. Chancer's Bro is having to watch the penniless allegedly. ;)

We've got a bad record with Wallaces

Agree. We should sign Gromits in future.

Speaking of Wallace's though. What's happened with Kieron Wallace? I know he went on loan somewhere but I don't remember us selling him? Is he still on our books and if so I'm surprised that he wasn't on the exit list?

Lee and Bannan are decent. Hutchison is just a hatchet man and an injury prone one at that. Westwood is a very good 'keeper. Pudil and Reach look poor. The strikers might be good if they had proper service but as a team, they just didn't offer much and the strikers fed off scraps.

He certainly does get booked a lot but apparently he's calmed down a touch believe it or not.

It's all theoretical anyway as we'd refuse to match the wages some of that lot are paid to swan about and these are the players they're going to keep!

The only shit they'll release are the likes of Nuhiu and Matias who wouldn't get a game for most sides I'd suspect.

As for someone suggesting Fletcher - wouldn't touch that cunt with a ten foot pole. Other than to twat him with it.

Interesting how others see things. I think Bannon has got some ability but he only shows it in flashes. He's 27 now - not too old, but he's never really been a major player for anyone - was on the fringes for years at Villa too. The young lad for Huddersfield last night, Quaner, had a much better game than Bannon and looked far more of a threat.

I think Fletcher is distinctly average. It was a good goal he scored last night, I'll give him that. But I wouldn't want him anywhere near our team - especially for £9 million or whatever ridiculous sum they paid for him.

I thought Hooper was a very good player some years ago when he was at Scunthorpe. He did really well at Celtic didn't he? Mind you, that's hardly professional level football. He didn't cut it at Norwich and hasn't cut it at Wednesday. So no thanks from me. Especially at the kind of price Wednesday paid for him.

People sometimes forget (I don't mean you Dronnie Blade - but in general) that a lot of these players that have changed hands for huge sums of money were just ordinary League 1 and League 2 players a few years ago. Like Hooper for example. The trick is surely to go get them on the way up, before their value becomes massively inflated just because of the league they are in. So all this talk about, "can they make the BIG step up to the Championship/Premiership?" is a bit of an academic question really. The answer is, for many players at that level, then no perhaps. But for some of the outstanding talent at that level then definitely yes. The Championship and Premiership have lots of examples of such players that were plying their trade in the lower leagues not long ago until someone took a chance on them.

Does get sent off a lot. You never know whether he'll be there next week.

We're not going to get their better players are we lads!? So been realistic its the players who aren't currently in the first team like Lavery wasn't. I'm no expert on their squad players and a few of them are loan players like Buckley. I don't think there's anyone who they are likely to release that will be any better than what we've got or can sign from elsewhere.

I always thought Lewis McGugan was a good player.
He's obviously done something to fall out big time with wendy, so maybe he has off the field 'issues'.
However, he has 275 mainly championship appearances scoring 55 goals.
If he came on a free and would fit in with our wage structure, i'd trust Wilder to get something out of him.

They got him on a free (signing on fee obviously) but pay him 40k a week so wouldn't touch him with a barge pole on those sort of wages.

He's the reason ForestFairy spat his dummy out earlier in the season.

Talk about deluded.
A team that's just finished 4th in the Championship and there's only a couple of players (if that) who would get in your team of Championship has-beens, never-will-be's and failures? And Wednesday fans are arrogant.
A rude awakening awaits
