...For pursuing the West Ham case when many were getting on his back, saying we should drop it and that he was making us a laughing stock.

Who'd have thought it eh? the Blades eventually getting the decision?

Have we had it confirmed yet?

Maybe WHU just leaked something to the press to give their fans reason to beat up anyone in a Blades shirt today :D

reported and initial statement given on the radio. More to follow

Statements from both clubs have hit the BBC :)

Double post: oh and now it's confirmed on the OS ;)

Carlos Tevez was Iligitamte, West Ham lied and got away with it, Kevin McCabe said fuck the cockney boys, we want 50 million, we want 50 million.

My prediction way back.

1. De list
2. Wet spam settle out of court.
3. McCabe sells out.

well so far one out of three..................................................NO AMBITION!!!

Its a dead cert.

Can here him now:

I've taken the club as far as possible bla bla bla.....................

Well done McCabe!!

How many people would have thought we would have got the decision!! :D

I have to be honest I thought we were going nowhere with the entire saga, but im glad the outcome is in favour of us. Despite the monetary value of it all, its nice to see an independant panel backing us and saying the Premier League made a mess of it all the first time round. Reading on the BBC site it seems WHU will have little opportunity to appeal, which is good to hear.

I find it interesting that an indepedant panel ruled in our favour and the Premier League Arbitration Panel didn't......but I guess thats the advantage of it all being "independant".....

Regardless of the additional money I'll just be happy to see the matter closed and United back on track doing the most important thing of all, winning matches. This announcement should give everyone at the club a lift....

i think this is a massive turning point for us this season

We have changed our shirt sponsor aswell. :D

I'll be amazed if this isn't overturned. For a judge to sit there and say that beyond doubt, if one player hadn't been playing West Ham would have got at least 3 less points is crazy, and just opens up the whole sport to a multitude of lawsuits after virtually every game.

Where would it end? Watford suing Reading for the goal that never was?
Hull suing Newcastle for Guthries challenge on whats his face the other day?
Teams suing each other after each game for professional fouls that deny goals?

Still, if the WHU board were stupid enough to continue to lie after getting off lightly for their original stupidity then they deserve hanging from a lamp post at the junction of Green St and Barking Road.

Mind, if Tevez earn't us 3 extra points in the last three games, how about all the points we didn't get whilst he was playing earlier in the season, and therefore keeping Marlon 'goal machine' Harewood out of the first XI!

I thought the arbitration couldn't be over turned and was final.

But who can overturn it? What's the point of having an arbitration in which both parties agree to abide by the decision if then at the conclusion, one of the parties changes its mind?

It does set a precedent, and possibly a dangerous one, but the facts that cannot be ignored are:

1. WHU knowingly broke the rules in order to sign the two players.
2. WHU once again knowingly broke rules in order to keep hold of Tévez once their original duplicity was uncovered.
3. WHU gained an advantage over every other team in the league by breaking a rule which they had agreed to uphold - twice.
4. The Premier League were responsible of a dereliction of duty in not investigating further when WHU said that they had removed the offending clause from their contract with Tévez.

Whether or not the ruling is just, or fair, or precedented is not the point, and just serves to take the spotlight away from the above four facts. I'm sorry that it wasn't sorted on the pitch, but why should we pay for WHU’s disregard for the rules, and the incompetence of the Premier League?

It shows in the paper the stats of Tevez over the last however many games it was.

Think he was in the top 5 for assists, chances created, goals and one other that I can't remember. lol.

I thought the arbitration couldn't be over turned and was final.

I thought the same after the PL passed judgement.

If the PL had set punishments for set offenses that were applied across the board then there wouldn't be this long legal proceeding.

The fact is, if it had been Man Utd, they'd have gotten away with it. If it had been someone like Macclesfield Town they'd likely have relegated them to a local pub league.

But who can overturn it? What's the point of having an arbitration in which both parties agree to abide by the decision if then at the conclusion, one of the parties changes its mind?

I thought the same after the last tribunal, when McCabe decided he hadn't gotten the result he wanted and would try again?

Don't suppose it showed the stats for all the other games during the season that he played in and produced naff all?
