I'm hoping we can shift Hanson to be honest. I wouldn't sell Clarke, he's got something to offer.

If Clarke starts next season like he end this one, Christ on a bike we will be in good shape, he looked dangerous and up for it, to be fair I agree about Hanson, but he does bring that bit of bullying strength and might be an asset in games where we have to grind and the flow is not with us.

Absolutely no idea who he is but its nice to click on a post with the title 'Nathan Thomas signs' and not see a picture of some stupid sign with Nathan Thomas on it.

Anyway, we should pronounce his name 'nah then'.
He's got 2 first names so it'd be like Thomas was his first name and we were going to pose a rather important question if we called him nah then Thomas.

I think we can sell Hanson and sign a huge improvement. Newcastle are open to offers for Daryl Murphy, he's getting on so no one will want to pay big money but there's a possible loan in the offing. That's just a thought.

Exactly. Nah then Thomas, gerrit int box.

Seems like a good signing to me.

Hartlepool fans seemed to really rate him and he's at the right age to develop his career here.

Will also be pleasing if he's turned down an ex prem side close to his home in boro to sign for us.

Its a calculated gamble to with the reasonable price we've paid for him also.

Need a Roygbiv view from now so we can see what they say about him, the good the bad and the probably Stupid.

I think it will be the case that we need someone big to make a nuisance at times, when the middle of the park is stifled again agree on murphy and a good championship head to join the group.

Can't see anything to get excited about to be honest. Been messing about in the lower leagues for the past few years and Hartlepool's star player last season. Hmmm.

They seem to have a problem with his attitude. What is it with the north east and attitude problems eh? Gary Madine springs to mind :)
I'd keep him around for pre season with the mind of possibly sending him to League One for 6 months if he isn't quite up to scratch yet. See what happens.

I think that seemed to be because he suffered a dip in form towards the end of the season.

Seemed to be fairly evenly split from what I read some people thinking he stopped playing towards the end but the more rational suggesting he pushed himself back from injury to try and help the side and wasn't 100% fit.

Either way I suspect wilder is a better man manager than Dave jones so it should still hopefully be win win.

Possible pie in the sky but I can't see how many better offers they'd get.

Yeah, I wrote my reply before I saw post #24. I'd want someone younger than Daryl Murphy if we're signing them permanently but a 1 year loan might be worth it.

Anyone know what type of winger he is?

A flying 'chalk in his boots' sort of winger or more of a Duffy type who drifts around in a number ten role type winger

My thoughts exactly and we need to accept we are going to have to make improvements and there's no time for sentiment. This is one of them times for me.
I think we need a targetman who firstly offers more in terms of goal threat and is better with the ball. Hanson has his talents but the Champ is too far a step if you ask me.

Hmmm. Big investment, eh? Winger from the basement-but-one club in the league below. Spent his career in that league, bar two games in the SPL.

We trust in Wilder.

He's only 22 - isn't he.

You'd think after the underwhelmed reaction to the likes of Wright last year we might at least let the lad pull the shirt on first.

Apparently fast as fuck, left footed, likes to cut in. Scored a cracking goal earlier this season that was nominated for mitre goal of the year.

Aye, but three years? That's a cracking contract to be seeing out if he can't hack the Championship.

Any hint on the fee?

Yeah, i guess so.

I doubt he's gonna be on mega bucks and there's more of a potential upside than say completing the signing of jay o'shay. We won't have his wages on the books now

Was reported to be in the region of 250k - which I guess is par for the course in the championship.

Is been posted before but now he has signed I certainly hope he scores and assists a few like these! We all know we lack pace but when Thomas plays that will no longer be the case! Welcome Nathan! Great decision to join Wilder's revolution!

If he can't hack it we won't struggle to sell him, we'll break even maybe even make a profit even if he flops. League 2 sides were queuing up in January but were put off by the fee. We picked him up for comparable peanuts, it's about 100k - can rise to 300k on performances etc.

End of the day, he chose us over Middlesbrough. If a newly relegated club from the Prem are also sniffing, it tells me that he has some pretty good potential. Also, after this season with how Wilder has surprised us with originally underwhelming signings like Wright being heroes suggests we should trust him.

think it said 300k was agreed, on one of the articles I found about it, not going to break the bank so all good.
