I was born in Glasgow and have lived in Sheffield for 40 years. I am proud to be Scottish and think of myself as a Scotsman although i have lived in Sheffield since being a child.
That said i am fiercely proud to live in Sheffield and see it as my home with no intention of returning to Scotland.

Wait until the next Scottish referendum and Queen Nicola issues a proclamation. You'll all be going back, but we might generously allow anyone to stay who's family have lived here over 250 years.

Not sure what that makes me really ( although i am sure a few on here will quickly tell me )

A Blade (and a helpful one at that).

I hope you understood my point though that having local players representing their local club and being successful all adds to the feel good factor of our club at this time.

I did and I agree completely. To have several Sheffield players consistently playing hasn't happened for years. Pinchy's cries of 'bladeyness' aside, I think it would be fantastic if we could get 5 or 6 local lads good enough to turn out every week.

Agree entirely but my definition of 'local' extends a little further than the boundaries of the City. I'd be just as supportive of a young player from Bradwell as I would one from Bradway and I'd still consider him 'local'.

McDeedar?

I was impressed with Sam Graham who I believe could play for the U18s next season. Will any of the other players be eligible?

IF Slater was the No 8 then I thought he came off with cramp in both legs. IMO a really good prospect with vision, a good pass and worked his gonads off. He earned the cramp and was my MOTM. Horatio was fast but seemed to drift in and out and our no 10 seemed to always 'exagerate' when he was fouled. This turned the ref against him.
I kind of agree with you but look who got the goal and he does this week in week out

Yes he can play next season as can Slater, Cantrill and Parkhouse.

Cheers larky, forget about Slater. I'm guessing clubs will be circling for him and Bomber. Hopefully now we've got up we can keep our young lads.

Yep - agree with that.

He seems to have legs that have developed before his time - must have been in the gym! - but physically, seems head and shoulders above a lot and can play a bit too............remind a few of Maguire perhaps?

UTB

Great result last night and it was nice to see such a large support for the lads.
Thought it was a fine touch to have Joe Cummings and Callum semple up on the presentation platform as well. Shows a lot of thought by the coaches who continue to impress with the way they bring on our young prospects.
I have mentioned how well Regan Slater has done this year at under 23 level and he did have a fine game again but I thought Harvey Gilmour was equally good, my goodness he tackled hard but fair.
Not wish to repeat others but Ti Smith is a real threat and Jordan Hallam just keeps scoring goals. Sorry that Tom Charlesworth and Joe Cummings are leaving they have both given me lots of fine performances and Tom had a great game last night shows his character

Just checked the Glasgow birth registrars and can find no record of Larkie having been born there. I have asked John Rebus to check it out

So which one is you?

What about Bradford? Or is that just taking the piss

Taking the piss.

Not only is it not an 'S' postcode it is near DirtyLeeds. Very near, actually.

Unless of course you meant Bradford-upon-Avon, home of many a famous footballer like, er.........

Rebus has just got back to us. He says he's based in Edinburgh so Glasgow is out of his jurisdiction. Actually he just said 'get tae fuck' but I think that's what he meant.

He visits Barlinnie a lot, that's in Glasgow, when he meets Big Ger

It made Frankie Boyle almost as rich as his mum, Susan.

And don't forget Danny Boyle. Fresh from his triumph with the 2012 Olympics, he wrote some law or other about gases.

Something like, at constant temperature for a fixed mass, the absolute pressure and the volume of a gas are inversely proportional but Wendy are still shit.

True, he also invented the kettle.

But Trevor Kettle is a law unto himself.

We may be going round in circles here, so we need to get back to the main issue. Is LarkyMasher a 'proper' Blade, or do we tie him to a dunking stool and dip him in the Sheaf?
That's an old fashioned method. You're like the Blackwell of interrogation.

Just leave him in a room with a GCB and a deep fried battered Curly Wurly and see which one he tries to brew alcohol from.

Larky

I fear you may have missed the japery inherent in this thread. You made an excellent point about the 'made in Sheffield' young side but as ever, that naughty BushBlade, Sean and myself took the piss.

We are now waiting in the corridor outside the Head's office studying our shoes and thinking about our actions.

What am I supposed to do with the fags and matches you and Bush have just given me to save......
