Although articles like this remind me why The Star is so poor.

Guessing in this day and age there isn't the competition for those jobs as was once the case.

That bit did make me think though. Baxter, Adams reckon for certain. Sammon probably, De Girolamo perhaps but he never got the game time.

I wouldn't include Sammon in that list. He just lacked the mental toughness to keep going when the going got tough. Lacked the self belief to overcome the stick he got. Think that's why he's made a career of arriving at a club, looking good for a bit then fading into obscurity. As soon as the crowd turned on him, he became a shell of the man he was. Couldn't turn it round like Coutts and Freeman have.

1. Though I', certain you're right about Baxter and Adams. Then there have been players like King, Brandy, Taylor etc. who never seemed to show the temperament to succeed for us.

He does come across like he doesn't give a toss.

I think he's better than that, he is bothered. But after 30 years of fanzines and now social media don't see why a lifelong fan for whom this would be their dream job for which they are well qualified isn't in post. There must be a lot out there.

I occasionally see JS in town, normally around High Street or Fargate and I have to say that every time he has looked absolutely shattered and dare I say somewhat haunted. I've been in jobs I loathed before and always noticed how it took a toll on me physically. I get the impression he might be in a similar rut.

Shields throws an hand grenade in,he is privy to information which. Doasnt get out officially .Would have been unprofessional to name names ,leaves it to punters to guess who.We have had some Jonahs playing for us in this division,that's history now we have got what we wanted.
Can't see anything like that happening on Wilders watch.

How many selfless, club-first warriors have we had in that time, before this season ? Somewhere between very few and fuck all, in all honesty.
