I suspect you are really saying you would like him to be a target. If so, that's a very different thing. I disagree. He's a complete mediocrity and ought to be avoided.

Addendum: Just checked his attacking prowess: A grand total of 10 career goals in 9 star-studded years. Oh, and he's 5 foot 6. That'll be four "No"s from the common sense jury.

I can't see this rumour being true seeing as he came on today. If Wilder was thinking of letting him go he'd certainly give someone else a run out.

It would have been great if he was younger, but he seems to have just improved as he's got older. He's a four days older than Messi, a couple of years younger than Ronaldo and Duffy, so (if he comes) hopefully he'll have another couple of seasons in him at his current level. Reading Charlton fans praising his stamina may suggest he's a good trainer.

As for Holmes I can't help but feel Wilder has been having a dig at him all season with the comments about players coming here wanting too much money and then signing elsewhere for more money. They still seem to be mates but I think for the step up Wilder will be looking towards players who are younger and I also don't think he will be willing to pay a fee for anyone 30 or over it seems to be against his business plan

No idea, i just remember that the basic concept was it was a swap. But I appreciate what you're saying, it is increasingly rare.

We've done a couple of great swaps. McMahon for Bob was anot excellent deal and bringing in Danny Webber with Cullip going the other way was another good one.

Can he play left-wing back? He played Attacking Midfield against us. Granted he scored a decent free kick but his corners were generally poor.
