The difference with us and Evans is we have a significant number of fans who think he didn't do anything wrong and would have continued to think that regardless of appeals, retrials etc.
That wasn't the case with the Plymouth goalie.
The issue we've got is whether the club is vindicating those supporters or whether the club cares.
I doubt Plymouth fans sang about the goalie killing whoever he wants but you know what's going to happen with our supporters.
As for sticking two fingers up, who are we sticking two fingers up to? Women who've been treated badly by men?
Maybe it's sticking 2 fingers up to the control against freedom of speech and the trial by Twitter culture. I tried to give alternative rational views on forums and was called a rapist sympathiser etc. It's really dangerous that there's a culture where you aren't allowed to give views that might cause offence. Rape is an emotive subject meaning some people are inane to make logical/ valid points.
The sad thing is that the Ched case was used by so many different groups for their own agendas.
Truth and justice wasn't important, he was used as a sacrificial lamb for a greater and worthwhile cause.
The public wanted blood, it reminds me of the pitch fork hillbilly brigade who hunt someone down because justice has to be seen to be done, the person being hunted is irrelevant and just collateral damage.
