I'm amazed they've broken this story now, as they've stated it's from a source outside of the club. Surely they should use a bit of nous and keep their powder dry on this? The week before we're crowned Champions and they've put an exclusive scoop out there which they would have known would generate a shit storm.

Seems a shortsighted move from them going forward as I don't think the club & Wilder will be happy - I know that SUFC like to do their business privately.

Here's a thought....typical media actions, build something up to knock it down.

They have done this to kill some of the hype and generate some animosity, a so called Blades night and they choose tonight to break this. There is NO good reason for it and I can only conclude it's been done to cause a divide.

Well I can imagine there will be some folk in the club...in fact probably both clubs who are very pissed off. And I expect Wilder to make that very very clear.

Could this be a very direct ' fuck you ' to Chris Wilder from Radio Sheffield ? Wilder gives them nothing when it comes to transfers so it looks like they've spat their dummies out .

This could back fire on them .

Wasn't it soposed to be a blades special tonight? Has that gone pear shaped because of this breaking news? I'm confused. I hope it turns into bogus news, but not likely as united would have denied it.

Very short sighted falling under the remit of journalism . Local radio need and survive on good working relationships with local clubs . If this story has been broken by RS without contacting the club first , then McCabe and Wilder will not be too happy , and the end of trust.

Ched Evans . Make sure you deliver on the pitch not off it .

The club surely cant say anything as the transfer window isnt open yet and probably wont until after the Chezzie match

Could end up being the best timing possible. Media may not be that bothered because it's not the PL.

There's never been a manager of SU more popular, he only has to say it's his decision and it will be "in Wilder we trust" because all his controversial decisions so far have all paid off. Wilder seems to have the Midas touch.

Looking around other forums there's little shit storm, in fact he seems to have a fair amount of support from other fans, let's be straight being falsely imprisoned must have been terrible.

I'd like to bet that the atmosphere at BL will still be fantastic and no doubt Ched will get a big cheer.

Either that or the club has asked them to release it on the sly? To canvas fan opinion?

Or, Maybe they knew long before we lifted the title and graciously waited for it to be water tight and for us to be up?
If they knew long before we lifted the title why not wait another 7 days? Would it have hurt? No. Did it have the potential to slightly tarnish our last day celebrations or at least distract from them?
You bet your bollocks it did

Don't know about media not being bothered it's been on both local and national news tonight !!

Was going to mention this. It was up on the BBC football page earlier this afternoon. If RS know they aren't the only ones with this info and about to go to press, it would be ridiculous for them not to talk about it.

Do you not think this is what they had planned all along? Why not have a Blades special after the season has finished reflecting on the season? Total wankers, if the club can ban them, they should.

You can say what you like about leaks , but what I don't get is ( if true as rumoured) McCabe couldn't wait to meet up with Ched till after the Chessie game, why the rush?...plain daft if true.

They are journalists first and foremost. This is a breaking news story that will set their patch alight so of course they are going to publish it IMO.

Whenever it comes out won't be a great time for the club given how controversial it inevitably is.
