Nothing personal.

Our views differ. Widely.

You know it. I know it.

Doesn't mean your wrong.

All Blades.

Ps the Wicki link adds nothing, precisely nothing. Which beggars the question, Why ??

You claim that our views differ widely, yet seem unwilling to put into words what these differences actually are. I'm starting to think you don't quite know what my tactical preferences are, or that you realise you have nothing to back up what you've concluded they are.

Several hundred posts, that you have spent hours compiling would suggest otherwise.

But if it's pick on DB day, it's pick on DB day. I do put it out there :)

As I say, nothing personal. All Blades.

Ps go back on our previous engagements to find out exactly how our views differ. Your just being mischievous now !

Or You could just answer his question

Again you don't mention a single difference.

The last time we debated it went like this:

BB: Millwall's centre halves are both about 6'4/6'5, but the rest of their starting line up didn't have a lot of height. For set pieces they put Webster on Hanson and Cooper on Basham. This meant O'Connell was being marked by their left back (Craig) who's quite a bit lighter and smaller. For the vital opener O'Connell got rid of him and headed home.

If we'd played another smaller striker alongside Sharp, it is likely that one of their big centre backs would have marked O'Connell, which may have meant he wouldn't have been allowed a free header.

Hanson also marked Cooper at their set pieces and helped us cope.

DB:Maybe if you all try hard enough, we can get Hanson credit for some of this lot as well ;) (Youtube video "10 Mind Blowing Discoveries That Can't Be Explained")

BB: Do you disagree with anything I said?

DB: I might. UTB

End of debate. Little digs, and nothing to back it up.

I was just winding Dronnie up. I think it would be unlikely, he's only just gone to QPR and I don't think we'd offer anything they'd accept, let alone more in wages.

If we sign another big man it has to be someone who's more than just a big man. Someone with good footballing qualities.

There is interest there though mate. QPR could be encouraged to think they made a mistake ;)

Hi chaps, congratulations on your promotion, and it is well deserved as you have been the best team in the division by far. I feel sure that you will go up as champions, it just shows that appointing the right manager is key.

I am also pleased for James Hanson, he deserves the chance to play in a higher division, and although I was disappointed when he left us, I was pleased for him that he got a good deal with a big club. He is a very hard working and honest player and I think that he will have a part to play for you next season.

I have a ticket for our next encounter, and I think that we will give you a game as we still have everything to play for. See you on Monday.
An alternate Bradford view.

Based on multiple years of pain, and not just 12 games !!!!

Mate, what did your club do with that bloke who posted about Billy after we came to your place?

I assume he's banned and won't be coming to Sheffield??..

Actions often speak a lot louder than words..

I think Hanson was a decent addition to the squad, 150k for a natural, if limited, target man who could also do a job in our own box. Wilder saw what we needed and sorted it out. That said it got me thinking about how much Brian Dean would be worth in todays market - pace, power, great in the air, superb touch, eye for a goal - on his day he would walk in to most premiership sides today - Andy Carroll went for 35 million!!!

We'd sell him for 400K then.

End of debate. As you wish.

Not your finest hour BB. There are others !

As I wish? You ended that debate with that 'I might' reply, I'm always happy to debate football matters.

Regarding our differences in football philosophies - does it come down to one player - Billy Sharp?

I was a little reserved regarding Billy back in December 2014, but the reasons could be summed up:

  • Lean spell for Reading
  • Lean spell for Doncaster (watched him score, but play poorly at Keepmoat in March 2014)
  • Lean spell for Leeds (remember seeing him do little in a TV game a few months earlier)
  • Declining goal ratio
  • High wages (didn't expect him to take a big wage cut)
  • Fee
  • Age (but his physique and strength is better than in younger years, suggesting professionalism I hadn't accounted for)
  • Clough played with 1 up front, which I didn't think was ideal for Sharp.
  • A general lack of height was also a major problem at the time.
  • As we were fighting for promotion at the time (Dec-14) we were discussing signings that would (hopefully) play Championship football for us
  • Underestimation of Billy's motivation to succeed here
I'm delighted that it's worked out for him and hope he can keep it up next season as well.

I am pretty sure that they took action against him, it hardly needs spelling out that making such abusive comments on social media will not be tolerated.

And I see that Hanson also divides opinion on your forum!!!
Sorry for mentioning him.

The thing I can't get my head around is that people don't seem to realise that Hanson is not Drogba. Once you accept that and actually look what he does in a game (accepting that his touch isn't always 100% and he doesn't always get his pass accurate but what do you expect for £150k in this league) and you add it to the unselfish work and graft that he does and add that to the times he actually does get it right in either box, we have a very effective player at this level. Ken Jnr was adamant at the start of the season that what we needed was a player in the mold of Hanson - and he was spot on.

Yea, I get a twinge of frustration when a short lay off goes astray and we have to recover the position, yes I get a bit frustrated when he misses a header I think he should have at least troubled the goalkeeper with but then I also recognise what he brings to open play and set pieces and the opportunities he creates for others.
He's been a great addition to this "team" since his arrival.

He's bound to score on Monday too ;)

He works as hard as Done but offers more options and asks different questions of defences. If we'd not signed him I've no doubt we'd be worse off.

An off the bench weapon next season, but he's played his part this season very nicely. A couple more goals will put a handy shine on that fact.

FFS, we're promoted, we are likely to go up as Champions, we have four more games to watch without the nail biting and yet some people can't be happy without the doom and gloom.

Nice original post as well, how did it deteriorate.

No complaints about the result today, we were well beaten by a better team and the game was over after 20 minutes. I hope that you would have put any team in the division to the sword in that first half, Sharp and Clarke were pretty awesome to be honest.

Good luck next season, and see ya there.

Genuinely hope you lot go up, decent club, good fans overall, great away day and your lads were class today with the guard of honour and the like. I'm not sure anyone could have lived with our first half hour and I don't think you really did much wrong at all today, just lacking that final touch of quality. Good luck in the play offs.

Good to hear from you gents most fans would like to see you go up, i reckon on ability and under mccall you are better than the others but as we down here know to we'll it doesn't always count for a lot in the lottery but genuinely hope you lot do it, good luck.

Hear hear! Always a good game v Bradford. Good club with passionate fans. Good luck for rest of season and hope we play you next season.

A few hundred talking sense and 1 person talking shit doesn't really mean a divided forum. Good luck btw.
