Can't believe he didn't get on the score sheet in the second half. And that's my only criticism of our central defenders.

Said it before, but I think he should regularly be mentioned alongside Coutts and Freeman as players rehabilitated by Wilder / Knoll (I know it's Knill, but this is my way of honouring that bloke from Whitby).

Not that Bash was poor last season. Always underrated. Nice one Chris. Unsung hero, and of the players of the year in our house.

While accepting the L1 team of the year can't be all full of Blades, Basham would walk in to any other L1 side and, as you say, IMHO has been UTDs most consistent player for months.

UTB

He's a total footballer.

How does Wilder do it he seems to get an extra 20% out of players

Its funny but before a ball had been kicked Wilder said no more square pegs in round holes, a dig at last season, and yet basham, a midfielder has been one of the most consistent players all season, last year when midfielder bashams name was on the team sheet we moaned, now as a centre half he is most fans first names on the team sheet, you never know sometimes who is going to do it

Thought he was brilliant today. His decision making is second to none, never jumps in when he doesn't have to, knows when to pass it out of the back or get it cleared, seems to be playing comfortably in second gear a lot of the time

... is currently having a pint in the Red Lion.

He needs a song of his own; as I left the Red Lion he was being serenaded by Blades with the Jack O'Connell song. They were too merry, let's say, to even adapt the words appropriately.

There's becoming too much of a fucking drinking culture and frivolity at BDTBL . It's past a joke .

This level of drinking would have never happened under tea total Methodist John Harris . It will all end in tears I'm tellin thi .

To be honest I'd say Basham at RCB is the roundest peg in the roundest hole. It suits him perfectly.

And if required he takes 10 steps forward and we go from a back 3 to a flat back 4 and he sits in the hole behind Fleck and Coutts and plays equally as well.

O'Connell at LCB? Freeman at RWB? Coutts as deep midfielder? Billy upfront? There's a lot of contenders for that one.

Funny that, playing players in a system that suits them, in their favoured positions and we've won the league. Who'd have thought it.

colossal for the last dozen or so games. A footballing God against Scunny and Bolton.
