Is that a woman with the Vale retards trying to get into the United end ?????

Speaking of dick heads, the tracksuit from Matalan playing 10 men with his Christ the redeemer pose was hilarious. Would have been brilliant if they'd let a dog off the lead or just opened the gates.

Seen nowt all day other than happy Blades and a bit of banter, the way it should be. That's banter... Not 'bantz'.

We were talking pre-match and the saving grace is that next season, those in the generation that have grown up playing the big man in league one and know no better, will soon get a clip from next year's opponents.
What the hell were the police thinking there ? Keep 4k fans stood in the rain and let a scruffy tramp parade on stage in front of them while the reprobates behind throw rocks into the 4k sitting ducks. Bonkers ,bloke who got hit about 6 foot from me had a thick hood up which saved him from very serious injury while Burslem highway patrol sat on their lovely big bikes next to him doing fuck all as there were no motorists to nick.

The flare came from the same area as the 2 half full glass bottles thrown after the 2nd goal. It's idiots like these who spoil the day for others. So, how did do many flares get past the security searches and why do they remove the cap off a bottle of water, but sell alcohol in glass bottles?

A good day tainted by brain donors

Get them on the twats thread and ban them

Shame there isn't a way we cant ban them if not at least knock some sense into these morons. But that's the thing as few have mentioned on mk dons, we are taking 7200 which is amazing as majority of L1 teams would be delighted with at home nevermind away. But utd "fans" have just proved today polices point as to why they can't have more allocation. Because police have watched us in the recent months & thought smoke bombs, Flares, pitch invasions (exc final whistle one). Yeah we are going to need more help.

So its the 1% of idiots that have ruined it for 99% football fans that go, have a drink, cheer their team, cause no bother & go home

Walked past the chav in the tracksuit outside a pub beyond the fire station, not long after Blades had been 'set free'. His face was a messy shade of red & purple and was swelling nicely. He was in a dazed conversation with plod who didn't seem to be hugely sympathetic :)

Sadly this embarrasses me when I call myself a Blade, some idiot throwing a smoke bomb (if it is as reported and was thrown fro the Away area). This could get us deducted points because the FA would love to do that to us. The culprit should be handed over to the police and banned from the Lane if it is proven they took it in and threw it.

I was informed by a friend there today that the scrote was promptly arrested. Dunno if anyone can confirm?

If only certain parents were aware of what their little darlings are spending their pocket money on.

Spoils an otherwise great day.

The lad who let one off in The Terrace in Stoke was arrested pretty sharpish.

Not sure about the one in Leek.

Tracksuit from Matalan man was spotted with a bloodied face after the match.

It's not big, it's not clever, but fuck it. :D
The said man had a birth mark! Saw him outside a pub in town and my boy was asking what was wrong with his face! That town is a weird place!

I don't mind smoke bombs aslong as the person who sets it off just stands there and holds it rather than launching it. If it lands on the pitch then it isn't so bad but throwing it into the Vale fans yesterday is absolutely ridiculous, and throwing them into your own fans like what happened at Barnsley last season is even worse. It might not be causing much harm but it's illegal, and as a club, we could be punished for it, so is it really worth it?

On another note though, slightly off topic but not worthy of a new thread. I thought the police were great yesterday. In the social club before the game they were walking round the car park chatting to Blades fans, happily posing for photos and letting fans wear their hats, one of them even picked up a can of Carling, shook it up and then gave it to a Blades fan :D

I get the intent of what you're saying, but they're not illegal in themselves and are freely on sale in the UK to over 18's. Their use can be illegal IF permissions are not granted. So for all intents and purposes, you're right that within a public place their use is illegal, Pubs and Football grounds being examples.

I think this does deserve a thread of its own. The Police get a very bad name because of the examples we've seen in South Yorkshire and other places in the country, but there were positives last week, so why not have a thread to the good and bad.

Fair point, we'll have a new thread then...

Funniest moment of the day was when Matalan Man responded to the rendition of "Tracksuit" by lifting up his shirt to show off the Vale badge tattooed over his heart ........ on the right hand side of his chest !

They leave school aged 5 in Burslem, it seems.

Fully agree. Most of the police I've met were sound, I find it funny that the people who hate the police seem to be the ones that get into trouble.

What ron pickering who used to do Superstars in the 70's? didn't know he was a blade

He's been dead for many years, which still makes him the most interesting man in Burslem.

I prefer sparklers myself. They are much prettier.

On a serious note, I have read your post twice and I can't work out whether you are being serious or sarcastic about "not minding smoke bombs". I tell you what I think about smoke bombs - I think they have no place at football matches and any fan caught in possession of one, whether lit or unlit, should be banned from attending football matches and face criminal action.

I remember some years ago now and we played Leeds United in a night match at Bramall lane. The Leeds fans threw flares into the crowd in the South Stand. There was universal disgust and outrage at this amongst our fans. It was considered to be the lowest of the low behaviour from fans and just underlined the commonly held view amongst some fans, that the Leeds fans were a level lower than the rest of society.

Now, we have our own fans doing this on a regular basis. How low we've sunk then eh?

I think the only way to stop this happening is for people to be arrested if caught in possession of one. That means doing a more thorough search of fans on entry to grounds. This routine "patting down" is pointless. I could have smuggled a machine-gun into Vale Park yesterday if I'd been so inclined and no-one would have noticed - at least not the guy who patted me down.

This is my concern - if fans are able to get into grounds carrying something as large as a smoke bomb and get unnoticed - then it's only a matter of time before some religious nutter does the same and causes mass murder.

I also think fans should shop other fans and report them to the police if they see them carrying, lighting or throwing flares. Or, film them on your mobile phone and share the footage with the police afterwards.

Someone knows that these idiots have smoke bombs on them. Someone is standing with them when they set them off. Maybe even someone on here is guilty of it and thinks it's big and clever to do it?

Uncanny that you should cite the machine-gun example. I was discussing exactly this scenario with others sat around us during the last home game. Not one of us could recall a game or a ground in the last 10-15 years, inc the biggest and most prestigious stadia in the land, where we couldn't have smuggled a machine-gun in, had we wanted to. It makes a complete mockery of the claims clubs make about security, searches, etc.

But would we want, or welcome, effective (i.e. genuinely intrusive) searches at football turnstiles ? I know I wouldn't !

Perhaps as a punishment if caught , they could do community work in good eating at restaurants .

You see em you shop em .

I've seen several anti-aircraft tanks at away games this season.

That's where I draw the line, this is a very serious issue, people could get hurt.
